There are a lot of tourist spots and attractions to enjoy and activities to do in Dipolog and Dapitan. This travel guide will provide you with basic information on how to get there, things to do, where to stay, where to eat, suggested itinerary, estimated budget and contact persons that will help you plan your visit.


HOW TO GET THERE?


How to Get to Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte
Dipolog City is the gateway to the province of Zamboanga del Norte. Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air have daily flights to Dipolog City from Manila and Cebu.

How to Get to Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte
Your entry point will be Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte. Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air have daily flights to Dipolog City from Manila and Cebu. From the airport, you could take a tricycle to the city terminal. There are mini buses and vans at the Dipolog terminal that will take you to Dapitan City. Travel time is about 45 minutes from Dipolog City, fare is 25 pesos.

There are also fast crafts that travel daily from Cebu to Dapitan City. Trips from Cebu City to Dapitan City is about 5 hours with stop over in Tagbilaran City and Dumaguete City.

WHERE TO EAT?


Popular fast food chains such as Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich and Mang Inasal are available in Dipolog City. Alternatively, you could look for the street-side eateries and barbeque stalls at the boulevard and experience the local flavors of Dipolog City. Restaurants, bars and cafes are also abound around the city.

Day 1
  • 08:00 AM - Depart for Diplog City from Manila
  • 10:00 AM - Arrive in Dipolog City
  • 12:00 NN - Check-in
  • 01:00 PM - Walk around the city
  • 01:30 PM - Visit the Cathedral and other interesting places
  • 05:00 PM - Eat at the boulevard
  • 08:00 PM - Go back to the hotel
  • 09:00 PM - Sleep

Day 2
  • 07:00 AM - Breakfast
  • 08:00 AM - Depart for Dapitan City
  • 09:00 AM - Arrive at the Dakak Beach Resort, explore, have lunch
  • 12:00 NN - Depart for Rizal Shrine
  • 12:30 PM - Arrive at Rizal Shrine, explore
  • 02:30 PM - Depart for Dapitan City proper
  • 03:00 PM - Walking tour around the city
  • 05:00 PM - Depart for Dipolog City
  • 06:00 PM - Arrive in Dipolog City
  • 07:00 PM - Dinner
  • 08:00 PM - Go back to the hotel
  • 09:00 PM - Sleep

Day 3
  • 07:00 AM - Breakfast
  • 08:00 AM - Depart for Montaño Sardines Factory, buy some for pasalubong
  • 10:00 AM - Go back to the hotel, check out
  • 11:00 AM - Depart for Dipolog City Airport or wherever your next destination may be.


This is my suggested itinerary for a 3-day trip in Dipolog and Dapitan City coming from Manila. You could adjust it based on how many days you want to explore and the places you want to see and experience.


ESTIMATED EXPENSES


  • 2 nights accommodation at Pepics Lodge - 460.00 pesos
  • Van from Dipolog to Dapitan - 25 pesos
  • Habal-habal (single motorcycle) from Dapitan proper to Dakak - 100 pesos/way
  • Dakak Beach Resort Day Tour - 500 pesos
  • Habal-habal (single motorcycle) from Dakak to Rizal Shrine - 100 pesos/way
  • Tricycle from Rizal Shrine to Dapitan City proper - 20 pesos/way
  • Van or mini bus from Dapitan to Dipolog - 25 pesos/way
  • Food (3 days) - 800.00 / person
  • Additional tranportation cost, going around the city - 100.00 / person
  • Tricycle to Airport - 25 pesos

ESTIMATED TOTAL OF BASIC EXPENSES - PHP 2,155.00 per person

Please note that these are just the basic expenses per person excluding airfare and terminal fess. Your expenses are dependent on the places you want to visit in Dipolog and Dapitan City, you may add other expenses for souvenirs and tips.
