The best part about traveling and experiencing other cultures is the language. So before I travel to any country, I always make sure that I learn a few basic words and phrases from the country I’m visiting that can be useful for my travel. For our last activity during our Taiwan OTOP Tour, we got to experience the Blue Dye Culture of Taiwan. This traditional Taiwanese cloth dyeing technique can still be found in Sanxia District in New Taipei City. Because of the abundance of the dye plant called "Da Jing" in the area, Sanxia became the center of the cloth dyeing industry of Northern Taiwan during the late Qing dynasty. To keep the tradition alive, locals have set up dyeing workshops along the old streets of Sanxia to let other people learn and appreciate the art of Blue Dye.

DIY THINGS TO DO IN TAIWAN: The Shu's Pottery DIY Workshop

After learning how to make Pineapple Shortcakes, next in our itinerary for this OTOP Taiwan tour is the Pottery Workshop. From Taipei, we drove for about 40 minutes to New Taipei City and went to Yingge District where The Shu's Pottery is located. Here, we learned about the history of the company with a tour at their museum, have a look at their line of products, and experienced a workshop on pottery making. I'm so happy that pottery making is part of our tour. I've been wanting to try this even when I am traveling around the Philippines, and it's only in the Taiwan that I'll get to experience it for the first time.

Earlier this month, we were invited by Taiwan's Travel Times to experience different DIY workshops in Taiwan. The tour is based on the OTOP (One Town One Product) activities which aim to give us hands-on experience on how to make local delicacies, souvenirs, handmade products, and local products from different towns and cities in Taiwan. I'm so happy to be back in Taiwan and glad to know that this trip will be so much different from my previous trips because we'll be doing new and unique experiences.

DAYS 5 & 6: Gala Dinner, Musical Show, Farewell Party, Disembarkation, and More at Star Cruises SuperStar Virgo

If you're looking for a vacation that won't make you feel tired and exhausted, taking a cruise holiday should be on your list.

Now on our 5th day on board Star Cruises SuperStar Virgo, our ship is now sailing towards back to Manila in the Philippines. It will be a long journey as we are expected to arrive at the Port of Manila the following day. But before we finally get back home, we spent this day just enjoying the facilities and the amenities at the ship, and of course, eat! Hahaha!

Now on our 4th day, we safely arrived at the Port of Keelung, Taiwan at around 6:00 in the morning. Excited to see and explore Taiwan again, we boarded our shuttle tour bus for a day of shore excursion to some of Taiwan's best tourist spots and attractions. We're very sure that this day will be so much fun and exciting because the tour we availed includes places we haven't been to. Yey!

We woke up early on our 2nd day on board Star Cruises SuperStar Virgo. It's a long day ahead, and we have a lot of activities lined up.

The first thing we did is to have breakfast at The Pavilion, which is a Chinese Restaurant located at the SuperStar Virgo's deck 8.
