As a tropical country, the Philippines usually enjoys a sunny climate all throughout the year. It's hot, yes, during summer months, but that doesn't mean that there are no cool places (as in, literally cool) in the Philippines for you to enjoy. If you wish to escape the rising temperature in the metropolis, here are some of the places I've been to with cool climate that you may want to consider for a visit this summer. NORTH COTABATO: KIDAPAWAN TRAVEL GUIDE - Tourist Spots and Attractions, How To Get There, Things To Do, Where To Stay, Itinerary and Expenses

Two hours away from Davao City is the City of Kidapawan, North Cotabato. As a city that lies at the foot of the majestic Mt. Apo, it offers adventure seekers with awesome sights, trekking destinations and other man-made and natural wonders. There are a lot of tourist spots and attractions, sights to enjoy and activities to do in Kidapawan City. One could enjoy strolling around the city, trekking to Lake Agco, swimming and nature-tripping, among many others.

North Cotabato - "Lost and Found", a Sanctuary at the Foot of Mt. Apo

After visiting the hot and boiling Lake Agco, we continued wandering around Mt. Apo Natural Park. As we explore, our restless feet brought us to a place enveloped by sulfuric steam coming from the volcanic vents (see video below). We were just enjoying the stunning view of the cliff when a group of men passed by. They invited us to visit their place. Clueless as to what to see in their place, we went and followed them.

North Cotabato - The Hot and Boiling Lake Agco in Kidapawan City

The main reason why we went to Kidapawan City in North Cotabato is to visit Lake Agco. It is located inside Mt. Apo Natural Park at the foot of Mt. Apo, the highest mountain in the Philippines. So, on our 2nd day in the city, we woke up early and went to the Kaosa Terminal where we met Kuya Marvin (Contact Number: 0906-961-1114), the habal-habal driver who will bring us up to Lake Agco. We agreed on 100 pesos per head/way. It took us about 45 minutes to reach the park.

North Cotabato - Strolling around Kidapawan City, "A Spring in the Highland"

Just before lunch when we arrived in Kidapawan City, the capital city of the province of North Cotabato. Kidapawan is one of the major tourist destinations of the province of North Cotabato as the city lies at the foot of the majestic Mt. Apo, the country's tallest mountain. After settling our things at AJD Pension House, we went out to the City Center to roam around and get acquainted with the city.
