The Incredible India pavilion of the Arabian Travel Market 2022 was inaugurated by Mr. Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General of India - Ministry of Tourism, accompanied by Dr. Aman Puri, H.E. Consul General of India in Dubai, Mr. Satpal Maharaj, Minister of Tourism - state of Uttarakhand, Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism & MD, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and Mr. Kitto Zhimomi, Commissioner & Secretary, Government of Nagaland.

Regarding promoting the Indian Travel and Tourism Industry, 'Incredible India' has been a one-of-a-kind effort from the government and the private industry to promote two-way growth in terms of economy and the industry.

Along with the rest of the world, India has faced a major setback in the tourism industry post the covid-19 pandemic, with visitors standing just above 6 million, the same as back in 2011. And that's just a third of the number of visitors that visited India in 2018 (before Covid).

Having reopened India for tourism after three waves of COVID-19, the government and the private sector tourism industry are concentrating on the Gulf region to forge new two-way collaborations in hospitality and leisure travel.

The panel members also acknowledged that Covid induced travel restrictions in various countries had its toll on the Travel & Tourism Industry and the Middle East, with Arabian Travel Market Event offering a lucrative opportunity to promote tourism.

The Middle East is responsible for a major share in the Indian Tourism Industry and economy, with people visiting India for various reasons, including meetings, conferences, expos, medicinal and tourism purposes, and India plans to make more from it. There are several options available in terms of transport, with businesses such as Air India Express offering some of the most budget-friendly and economic travel options to the country.

Arabian Travel Market is one of the leading Annual Tourism Events in the Middle East organized in Dubai. The event started back in 1994, with its host location being Dubai's International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event marked a major success in its journey in 2014, attracting more than 2,700 exhibitors and over 21,000 trade visitors from over 150 countries.

India has been a major source for Dubai in terms of visitors, with over 900,000 visitors being from India alone in 2021. Issam Kazim, the Chief Executive Officer for Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, assured India's strong ties and stated that they would be looking into every possible opportunity within the Indian market to collaborate and connect the dots.
