India is a very fascinating country teeming with rich history and culture that would definitely appeal to Filipino travelers. From the savory cuisines to friendly people to the colorful sights and bustling street activities, the nation of India provides travelers a unique experience – to which, every Filipino who has grown accustomed to a myriad of activities and experienced an equally rich culture and heritage, discovering India’s charm presents a wonderful travel opportunity.

Fortunately for Philippine passport holders, availing a visa to travel to India is very easy.

More good news for Filipino travelers is that the Indian government implemented an E-Visa system which make it easier for travelers from many countries all over the world to avail an Indian visa electronically.

In fact, most people wishing to enter India can apply for an E Visa to India on the government website here, but note that you will still have a lot of paperwork to do before you apply and that mistakes will result in a rejected visa and then you will have to create a new application online. The entire process is easier though if you apply with the company iVisa who will take care of everything for you so you can just sit back and relax while waiting for your visa approval.

Step-by-step guide on how to apply for an Indian Tourist Visa

1. Complete the partially filled form
2. Pay for your visa. You can use a Visa or MasterCard and if you apply with iVisa you can also use your AMEX, Discover Card as well as Paypal for paying. Filipino travelers is charged with 2,200 PhP.
3. Check your email for your confirmation email.
4. Wait for your visa that will be sent via email within 72 hours (Delays may occur should the Government require additional documents so be prepared to wait)
5. You then simply print your visa which is just a PDF with a reference number since your passport will be linked electronically with the visa.
No visa sticker is needed anymore and you dont have to go to an Indian embassy for an interview, the process is completely online.

How long you can stay in India with the Indian eTourist Visa?


The Indian E Tourist Visa is only valid for 30 days and comes with one single entry. The tourist visa that you can apply for online is not extendable or convertible and you can only apply for 2 such E Tourist Visas in 1 calendar year.

You can only apply 33 days before your arrival date to India. Not 1 day before, so if you want to apply earlier, then apply with iVisa who will place your application on hold (better known as a queued order) until the date on which your visa can be processed (33 days before arrival to India)…

India´s new E Visa makes planning a vacation to India much easier. And to avoid any stress associated with your visa application, we suggest you use iVisa to sort everything out for you so that you do not have to deal with all the bureaucracies of the Indian Government.

Be aware though that you can only use this visa at the following 16 airports: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi Airport.

You can however leave the country as a foreigner with this type of visa at any point, be that overland, by boat, train, car or another airport.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you plan to arrive to India via boat, car, train or any other airport that was not mentioned then this eVisa will not be valid, you will have to apply for the traditional Indian Visa at your nearest Indian Embassy in that case.

For other types of visas such as transit visa, working, student visa AND travelers planning to spend more than 30 days in India, you are requested to visit the Embassy of India visa collection center for biometric application and submission of other documents.
