CAMIGUIN TRAVEL GUIDE - How To Get There, ThingsTo Do, Tourist Spots and Attractions, Accommodations, Transportation, Itinerary and Contact Details

This travel guide will provide you with basic information on how to get there, top things to do in Camiguin, where to stay, suggested itinerary and estimated budget that will help you plan your visit to the "island born of fire".

HOW TO GET THERE

From the Cagayan de Oro City to Camiguin
Go to Agora Market Terminal, take a Bus bound for Butuan and get off at Balingoan Bus Terminal. Fare is 143 PHP and travel time is about 2 hours. Walk towards the Balingoan ferry terminal and take a Ferry bound for Benoni Port in Camiguin. Fare is 170 PHP and travel time is 1 hour.

From the Butuan to Camiguin
Take a bus bound for Cagayan de Oro and get off at Balingoan Bus Terminal. Walk towards the port and ride a ferry to Camiguin.

TRANSPORTATION

The whole island of Camiguin can be toured in just 1 day via its circumferential road. In going around, public transportation is available but it is scarce. I recommend that you get a habal-habal (single motorcycle) or a multicab to easily visit all the tourist spots in the island. The best thing with Camguin is that they're transport service is well organized, there is a standard rate so you wouldn't get fooled by operators who tend to overprice.

RATES PER DAY:
Habal-Habal (with the driver) - PHP 800/day
Habal-Habal (without the driver) - PHP 500/day
Habal-Habal (without the driver) - PHP 400/day if 3 to 7 days
Habal-Habal (without the driver) - negotiable if more than 7 days
Multicab - PHP 1,200 - 1,500

CONTACT PERSON:
Jojo Ocular - 0905-9566288
He knows well where to bring you and gives a handful of information on the spots you go to. He will be your tour guide, travel companion and photographer rolled into one. Highly recommended!

ACCOMMODATIONS

Since I only did a day tour of Camiguin, I won't be able to recommend any accommodation in the island. But there are a number of accommodations available, from expensive resorts and hotels to cheap and affordable hostels, guest houses and inns. Click here or download this for a list of accommodations in Camiguin.
