We woke early to catch the sunrise at Maniwaya island on day 2 of our 5-day Marinduque Adventure. Still very sleepy, I managed to get up and experience one of the best sunrises I've seen so far. It is magical! The sky was filled with hues of orange and blue. I 'luv it! Really stunning! What a great way to start our day!

Top Best Things to Do in Marinduque

Rich in natural wonders, history and adventurous activities, there are many things to do in Marinduque. You can find many places and do many things in Marinduque. For first-timers, I listed here some of the most popular tourist spots and attractions and things to do in Marinduque.

We then had breakfast and prepared our things for another day of adventure. This day was set for island hopping, beach bumming, waterfalls, spelunking and camping. Woohoo! It will be a long day ahead of us! We're all excited!

3. Palad Sandbar

We took our chartered boat and head towards Palad Sandbar. It's a small sandbar with semi-fine white sand surrounded with clear, shallow waters ideal for swimming. The sandbar only appears during low tide, so be sure to plan your visit.

4. Mongpong Island

After about an hour of swimming around the sandbar, we decided to leave and proceed to our next destination - Mongpong Island. It is an island with a stretch of white sand beach mixed with broken corals.

5. Ungab Rock Formation

What makes this island a must-visit are the unique rock formations called Ungab Rock Formation. You could swim in the clear and cool waters, but please be warned that there are jellyfishes. You may also opt to be more adventurous by jumping off the cliff. Like what my friends did!

6. Aroma Beach

We only stayed for about 30 minutes in the island and off to our next destination - Aroma Beach, located in Brgy. Polo. To me, the beach is not that appealing, but the clear blue waters is really very nice. We had so much fun swimming under the sweltering heat of the sun. Fun, fun fun!

7. Kawa-kawa Falls

We then went back to Buyabod Port where our hired jeepney is waiting. We had a quick snacks at the town proper of Sta. Cruz and drove all the way to Kawa-kawa Falls in Brgy. Bangcuangan. Named after the local term for basin or "kawa", it is a series of three cascades, with the biggest pool on top. The basin is estimated to be at 12 feet deep. Since I don't know how to swim, I didn't try to even take a dip. Hahaha! I just had fun watching my friends swim and jumping off the cliff. #InggitMuch Hahaha!

8. Bathala Caves' Church Cave

We got back on the road for our next activity - Spelunking at Bathala Caves. Since it's already mid afternoon when we arrived, we chose to just explore 2 of the 8 caves. The first one is called the Church Cave or Kuweba ng Simbahan. It is the biggest cave in the area which can fit an estimate of 100 people. Inside, you'll see huge rock formations. Also, the cave has lots of bats, guanos, roaches and other creatures roaming around. I had a fair share of bat droppings on my head. Hahaha!

9. Bathala Caves' Python Cave

We made our way out of the Church Cave and proceeded to Python Cave. It can be reached by descending through some sharp rock formations and then to the mouth of the cave. From the entrance, we already saw a python resting on a hole, but we moved closer for us to take better photos. Our guides told us the there are several pythons inside, but during our visit only two showed up. This is the scariest spelunking experience I've ever had. I don't need to explain why... Hahaha!

10. Marinduque Hot Springs

We went back to our headquarters in Gasan to prepare our things for our overnight camping at Marinduque Hot Spring in the town of Buenavista. Upon arriving at the resort at around 5:00 PM, we quickly set up our tents before it gets totally dark.
