Cavite - Christmas Lights and Sound Show at Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite

The historic town of Kawit, Cavite holds a nightly lights and sound show at the mansion of General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Philippine Republic. Every night, people from Kawit, nearby towns and even from Manila come to Aguinaldo Shrine to witness the spectacular display of dazzling lights that dance to the tune of Christmas songs.

I am at awe to see the house of Emilio Aguinaldo as it is well decorated with lights. This is the first year that this kind of show is being held in Kawit, a town that is very close to my heart as I studied there in my entire grade school and high school years. I hope that this will be a yearly event to be enjoyed by my fellow Caviteños.

The nightly show is every 7:00 and 9:00 PM with a holy mass held at 8:00 PM.

Here's a sneak peek of what to expect.

The freedom park in front of the shrine is also decorated with Christmas lights. Stalls selling food and different merchandise are available to the delight of the spectators.

This is part of the annual Maytinis Festival, a well-loved Caviteño tradition held every Christmas eve.

It is indeed Christmas! Come to Kawit, watch the spectacular display of lights and sounds, dine at the food stalls and experience the Christmas festivities!

HOW TO GET THERE
From Lawton in Manila or Baclaran in Parañaque, take an air-conditioned bus bound for Cavite City. It passes by the Aguinaldo Shrine in the town of Kawit, fare is 30-40 pesos and travel time is around 1 hour depending on traffic condition.
