A rich Caviteño tradition, the Maytinis Festival is an annual event held during Christmas Eve in the historic town of Kawit, province of Cavite. It is an interpretation of the history of mankind's salvation from the Old to the New Testaments depicted in biblical scenes with characters portrayed by Kawiteños in dazzling floats. It is also a spectacular recapping of St. Joseph and Virgin Mary’s search for a place to stay in Bethlehem.
It is truly a unique Filipino translation of the ancient biblical episodes that gather families and friends in celebration of Christmas Eve.
