As someone who lives in Cavite, I always use CAVITEX whenever I go to Metro Manila and back home to Cavite. CAVITEX (or Coastal Road Expressway as we used to call it before) is a 14 kilometer expressway linking Metro Manila to the southern province of Cavite in the Philippines. Coming from Metro Manila, it starts from the City of Parañaque, and passes by the Cities of Las Piñas and Bacoor, and ends at the intersection of Tirona Highway and Antero Soriano Highway in the municipality of Kawit, near Aguinaldo Shrine and Museum. Managed and operated by Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), it uses Easytrip RFID.

What is Theoretical Driving Course? How to get free TDC?


To get a driver's license from Land Transportation Office (LTO), you must first get a Student Permit. According to Memorandum Circular 2019-2176 released by the LTO, to get a Student Driver's Permit, you must first enroll and attend a 15-hour Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) as one of the requirements. You can get the TDC at any LTO-accredited driving school, or you may also get it for free at the many LTO Education Centers nationwide.

In taking the Theoretical Driving Course, you need to attend the 15-hour seminar or classroom session which you could take online or via face-to-face classroom session. After taking the TDC, you just need to take and pass the TDC exam before you will be issued a TDC Certificate which is one of the requirements to apply and get a Student Driver's Permit.

The North Luzon Expressway or NLEX Corporation just announced that they will be implementing new toll rates for NLEX starting May 12, 2022.


The Toll Regulatory Board gave NLEX (operated by MPTC or Metro Pacific Tollway Corporation) the go signal to increase its toll by ₱2.00 in the open system and ₱0.34 per kilometer in the closed system. The NLEX Toll Fee hike will apply for all vehicle classes, and for both the closed and open sections of the NLEX as well as the SFEX Subic-Tipo segment.
