YEAR-END SPECIAL: "Don't just Dream of Getting to your Dream Destinations, MAKE IT HAPPEN!"
Eleven months ago, on January 17, 2013, I wrote an article entitled "Things I Want to Accomplish on my 5th Year of Traveling around the Philippines". It accounts all the things I want to achieve this 2013. Barely 5 months after I quit working professionally as a computer programmer, it was the time that I am still uncertain and unprepared for what to expect this year. But I pushed through with being a full-time travel blogger and dared to do what I love most - "to TRAVEL".
Thank you for being part of my 2010...
My thank you message to all who've been part of my most adventurous year yet...

Personal : I Missed Myself...
'Eto na ulit ako at muling bumabangon mula sa pagkakalugmok ng mahabang panahon. Matagal-tagal ko na ri'ng hindi nararanasan ang ganitong pakiramdam. Yung tipong wala kang inaalala at walang pakialam, no worries at all...
I won't try to go against the flow, mas mahihirapan lang ako. I will go with the flow at bahala na kung san ako dalhin nito.
It's good to be back! I'm glad I found my "old/bad self" again. Hahaha!!! I will enjoy this journey. Sabi nga sa isang sikat na quotation: "It's not the destination. It's the journey."

Personal : "Mervin is Happy @ Thirty"

Life has been so good to me. Although I must admit that there are few hard times that came along my way, but in general, I know that God has been so good to me. He's giving me a life that I deserve, a life that can be envied by others.
For the past "THIRTY" years of my exciting and colorful life, I've wanted to do things on my own. I'm glad that slowly, I am able to do what I want.
I want to thank my family for their unconditional love and support to all my comings and goings. Whether they agree or not on the things I wanted do, they are still there to support me and accept what I want and what will make me happy. Thank you for not questioning me on the things you don't fully understand. Even if we don't talk about our disagreements, thank you for accepting what I want in life. My parents are the most understanding persons in this world, siguro nga totoo ang kasabihan na "walang magulang na makakatiis sa mga anak" at nararamdaman ko yun. Rest assured that I will continue to make you proud. That's a promise.
Like what we have promised to each other, sa ating pagtanda ay magkakasama pa rin tayo at hindi mag-iiwanan. Andito lang ako, umaraw man o bumagyo... Kahit sa mga panahon na busy-busyhan ako at parang walang time sa inyo, di kayo bumibitaw – alam kong naiintindihan nyo ako. Salamat.
To my MBA friends, miss ko na kayo… I miss the sleepless nights just to finish all the papers that we need to submit by the coming weekend.

To my USTG family, salamat sa friendship... Thank you for sharing all the knowledge that you have. It is still a long road I have to take, but I know you're still there to help and guide me (nasa isang kumpanya man tayo o hindi na...) Hehehe! Salamat po...
To the Sosyal Klaymers, salamat sa experience. Thank you for accepting me in the group, and for sharing your life and experiences with me. In a span of 7 months, I know that I didn't just gained friends - but brothers and sisters. Still a long way to go for us, madami pa tayo'ng aakyatin na mga bundok, lalanguyin na mga cove, at tatakbuhing mga daan. More to come for us… Miss ko na kayo...
To all who've been part of my life, one thing I could say - "I've learned a lot". “Mervin is happy @ thirty”…
I love you all!!!
Personal : USTG @ McKinley Hills - Feb. 2 '10
UST Global Manila's newest offshore development center in McKinley Hills Taguig City was inagurated by Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last February 2, 2010.
I was there to witness the event. It is indeed a "world class" work environment compared to what we used to have in RCBC Plaza, Makati.
The sacralization of the L5 on my spine
I had my follow-up consultation with my doctor yesterday. I also got the result of my lumbar spine x-ray, result shows that I have a sacralization of the L5 on S1. At first, di ko maintindidihan yung result, I was asking myself, “nakakamatay kaya ito? or kelangan kaya ito ng operasyon? A lot of things were running in my mind, until I brought the results to my Orthopedic surgeon. The doctor explained to me that the sacralization of the L5 on my spine is congenital, which makes me prone to back pains. Di ko lang daw nararamdaman masyado when I was younger kasi konti pa lang ang mga activities ko. But now, since I’m into different strenous activities, I’ve become succeptible to back pains.
Since I’ve been experiencing back pains in the past 3 weeks, the doctor advised me to take a 4 day bed rest and continue my medication, if hindi magbago, I need to go through physical theraphy. Hay… magastos huh!? Hehehe! But still, I’m so thankful kasi di naman pala malala ang sakit ko… It’s congenital and wala naman talaga cure, so, with proper exercise and staying away from strenous activities, I could get away with severe back pains that I’m experiencing right now.
I would appreciate if you could leave some comments... Thanks a lot!

Personal : A day with the kids of Elsie Gaches
March 8, 2009
Together with my officemates, we went to Elsie Gaches Village in Alabang… It is a center for mentally challenged persons… Pumunta kame sa water lily cottage, where kids with cerebral palsy stays. Naaliw talaga ako kina Chester, Christine at Tommy. Chester is a 7 year old kid with cerebral palsy… ang cute cute na bata… Si Christine naman, same with Chester, may cerebral palsy din cya… what’s nice about this little girl is that napaka-daldal nya… Hehehe! Si Tommy naman is a kid with down’s syndrome… napaka-kulit at napaka-likot na bata… Hehehe!!!
It’s so nice to spend time with these kids… Kahit konting time lang, nakapag-laan ka ng panahon for them… How I wish I could post their pictures here.. Para makita nyo kung gaano sila kakulit… Hehehe! Kaso, hindi pwede eh….
Kaya, pictures nalang namin ang pagtyagaan nyo… Hehehe!

Personal : UST Global's Christmas Party - Dec.19 '08
Last December 19, 2008, we had a simple christmas party in the office. Lunch (a combination of “Filipino favorites” and some Indian Cuisine) was served at 1:30pm, followed by a raffle and the exchange gift. It was so exciting because everyone is guaranteed to win a prize. It includes gift certicates from Starbucks, Delifrance and SM Department Store, flash disks, headsets, optical mouse, electric kettle and some other prizes. The top prize is a portable DVD player which of course, everyone wishes to win. Almost everyone’s name was already called, except me and Rowel. Hehehe… So, ayun na nga tinawag na ang 2nd to the last na prize. “And to win an electric kettle”…. MERVIN!!! Hahahaha!!! I ended up not winning the DVD player… Hahaha!!! Hahaha!!!
We had lot of fun in our Christmas Party, kahit sa office lang namin ginawa, dami naman ng food at masaya lahat. What about my gift? I’m just a bit disappointed with the exchage gift na nakuha ko… Hahaha!!! Keri lang, andyan na yan eh… Hahaha! Thanks!!!
Thanks to Andrea and Dexter for a well organized party. Ang galing nyo! Here are some of the pictures from my cam and Mike’s cam…! Enjoy!!!
