On this day trip from Sapporo, we enjoyed Shitkosu Ice Festival, sunset at Shitkosu Lake and walking along Yamasan Railway Bridge.

It is part of the Shikotsu-Toya National Park and offers spectacular views and sights where one can truly enjoy nature. Lake Shikotsu is considered as the second deepest lake in Japan, after Lake Tazawa in Akita Prefecture. It is also the 8th largest lake by surface area in Japan and the second largest of Japan's caldera lakes.

No adventure trip is more exciting than when you are taken to a place you once dreamed of. Living in a tropical country, I always dreamed of spending a holiday in a snowy place and enjoy a winter wonderland adventure. And I guess, the nearest country from the Philippines where one could really experience winter is Japan - specifically Hokkaido Prefecture which is the northern islands of this beautiful country.
