Just recently, the Department of Tourism announced that hotel staycations are now allowed in Metro Manila. And it got me so excited!
Having been stuck in the house during the many quarantine periods, and not being able to travel for quite a long time made me book a quick weekend staycation at Okada Manila, a Forbes five-star rated integrated resort.
Known as one of premier integrated hotel and casino in Metro Manila, Okada Manila is one the grandest and best hotels in Manila's Entertainment City. Set against the world-famous sunsets of Manila Bay, it is just a few minutes away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, SM Mall of Asia, Cultural Center of the Philippines, and other commercial and business establishments. With its prime location, it provides easy access to a variety of shopping, dining, recreation and best attractions in the city.
Upon arrival at the hotel, I went to the reception area to check-in. The hotel staff greeted me with a warm smile and assisted me with my booking. To my surprise, my booked Deluxe Room was upgraded to a Junior Suite which I gladly accepted. Who am I to decline?
When I entered my suite, I was stunned. It is so huge and luxurious! It has a lovely living area with a sofa, television set and a work area. It is set against a wide glass window where you could have a nice view of the surroundings. At one side of the living area is the kitchenette and dining area. This is where you could enjoy your food or have some complimentary coffee or tea during your stay.
The bedroom is also very spacious and lavishly appointed guestroom. It is highlighted with a lovely and comfy king-size bed complemented with high quality white sheets, thick duvet, and fluffy pillows. It also has a walk-in closet with lots of cabinets, and a flat screen smart TV where you can watch local and international cable channels. You can also access the internet and log in to your own Netflix account. How cool is that? I also love that it is clean, well-organized, and smells fresh.
The Junior Suite also has a powder room and a full size toilet and bath which is so spacious and as grand as the room! It has a spacious "his and hers" sink with huge mirrors, free-standing bathtub, a walk-in shower area with rain-shower and hot & cold water features, and a separate toilet with state-of-the-art electronic water closet just like the toilets in Japan. If you haven't been to Japan, you could at least experience it when you stay at Okada Manila.
For guests' comfort and convenience, Roberto Cavalli bathroom amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and bath soap, as well as vanity and dental care kits were provided. High-quality and soft bath and face towels were also provided. What else could I ask for? I am also satisfied by how tidy and organized the toilet and bath is.
What I love most is Okada Manila's state-of-the-art Digivalet Service. It is an in-room iPad device that you could use to control almost everything inside the room. This amazing touchscreen genie serves as a control panel for the room's amenities such as adjusting the airconditioning unit's temperature, opening and closing the curtains, turning on and off the lights, selecting what to watch on the television, ordering food at the hotel's food outlets, and so much more. It's really one of the best features of Okada Manila's guest rooms that will make your stay truly memorable.
Okada Manila exudes a resort feel within the city and a luxe tropical feel that the whole family will surely enjoy. Like every 5-star hotel where you'll find lush accommodations and exemplary service, what sets Okada Manila apart are their wide array of luxurious hotel amenities and facilities. I enjoyed my day just hanging around the swimming pool area with a lovely view of Manila Bay while enjoying a drink at the Pool Bar.
Aside from the swimming pool, other hotel amenities that you could enjoy while staying at Okada Manila includes: The Retreat Spa, Fitness Gym, Barbershop, The Sole Retreat, Kid's Play Area, The Garden, and so much more. Okada Manila is definitely an excellent choice for a staycation where you could relax, rejuvenate, and spend a day for that pampering you truly deserve.
Okada Manila's breakfast buffet is served at the Medley Restaurant from 06:00 to10:00 am. The buffet spread is filled with sumptuous dishes and wide array of international and Filipino cuisines. What I love most at their buffet breakfast is the banquet of local and international cuisines ranging from Chinese, to Indian, Japanese, Korean, and Italian dishes.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my luxurious weekend staycation at Okada Manila. Their top-notch and superb room amenities, lovely hotel facilities, and prime location are just some of the best qualities that make Okada Manila one of the best and finest luxury hotels in Metro Manila. It is definitely a perfect place to spend a staycation or a quick getaway with your partner, group of friends, or with the whole family! Highly recommended!

Okada Manila's New Normal Guidelines
- In order to comply with government regulations, yours and your companions' ID cards or passports must be presented upon check-in.
- All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent, step-parent, guardian or other adults who has parental authority to act in behalf of the minor.
- Guests staying in the hotel rooms shall register with Okada Manila. Unregistered guests are not allowed to occupy or stay in hotel rooms.
- To ensure the well-being of guests, the resort has strict policies on room/suite overcrowding. Maximum occupancy is strictly followed.
- No facemask and no face shield, no entry. These will be worn inside the premise at all times except when eating and drinking, while inside the room or engaging in strenuous physical activities.
- Visitors from 18-65 years old may also enjoy and experience the room from 12:00 PM until 10:00 PM only. Pregnant women and people with comorbidities are not allowed to enter the property.
