Regular, Special Non-Working Holidays, and Long Weekend Holidays in the Philippines for 2022

There are many national holidays in the Philippines and long weekends this 2022! Start planning to make the most of these holidays!


Last October 29, 2021, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation 1236, declaring regular and special working and non-working days in the Philippines for 2022. Below is the list of national holidays in the Philippines for 2022.

UPDATE: On December 22, 2022 (Thursday), MalacaΓ±ang Palace issued Proclamation No. 115, declaring December 26, 2022 (Monday) as an additional non-working day to "give the people the full opportunity to celebrate the holiday with their families and loved ones."

Regular Holidays in the Philippines for 2022


  • January 1 (Saturday) – New Year’s Day
  • April 9 (Saturday) – Araw ng Kagitingan
  • April 14 – Maundy Thursday
  • April 15 – Good Friday
  • May 1 (Sunday) – Labor Day
  • June 12 (Sunday) – Independence Day
  • August 29 (last Monday of August) – National Heroes Day
  • November 30 (Wednesday) – Bonifacio Day
  • December 25 (Sunday) – Christmas Day
  • December 30 (Friday) – Rizal Day

Special Non-Working Holidays in the Philippines for 2022


  • February 1 (Tuesday) – Chinese New Year
  • February 25 (Friday) – EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary
  • April 16 – Black Saturday
  • August 21 (Sunday) – Ninoy Aquino Day
  • October 31 (Monday) - Additional Holiday
  • November 1 (Tuesday) – All Saints' Day
  • December 8 (Thursday) – Feast of the Immaculate Concepcion of Mary

Special Working Holidays in the Philippines for 2022


  • November 2 (Wednesday) – All Souls’ Day
  • December 24 (Saturday) – Christmas Eve
  • December 31 (Saturday) – Last Day of the Year

The proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha will be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined, in the accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient. The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos will recommend the actual dates on which these holidays shall repectively fall. The President will issue separate proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of these holidays.
