If there's one province near Metro Manila that I love to visit over and over again because of food, that would be the Province of Pampanga. Known to be the "Culinary Capital of the Philippines," Pampanga is home to the best kitchens in the country. And that is so true! I've been to Pampanga several times and all we did is just to eat, eat and eat! Hahaha! Well, aside from the many attractions to see and activities to do, food tripping will always be on top of my list of top things to do in Pampanga.
A day tour in Pampanga is not enough to really experience their cuisines. I did several food trips in Pampanga, and there's always something new to try and discover - especially in the Clark and Angeles City areas. So, if you're planning to visit Pampanga soon, I highly recommend that you stay for a night or two for you have enough time to taste and savor the dishes that Pampanga has to offer.
Just recently I went back in Pampanga with some travel blogger friends through the invitation of the newly-opened Best Western Metro Clark in Angeles City. It was a weekend of fun, relaxation and of course, food trip!
Best Western Metro Clark is an 85-room mid-scale hotel located at the center of the city's business and entertainment districts. The hotel’s central location makes it an ideal place to stay whether you're on a holiday or business trip in Clark and Angeles City. Since it's located just about 15-20 minutes away from Clark International Airport, it is also a good hotel to stay at if you're catching up an early morning flight or if you’re longing for a good bed to rest after a long flight.
DELUXE DOUBLE ROOM
During our stay, we got to stay at their Deluxe Double Room which is a 35-square meter guest room that is spacious and has stylish and contemporary-designed interiors. I love that it is minimally styled and doesn't have too much clutter. It is well-organized and feels very airy because of the room's size.

It features huge glass windows at one side which lets natural light in. It is highlighted with 2 comfy beds with pocket spring matresses complemented with clean white sheets, fluffy pillows and thick comforters. Since the hotel is newly opened, you can really feel and smell the freshness of the room. I loved it!
With guests' comfort in mind, essential room amenities are equipped inside the room, such as a 42-inch television set with cable channels, air-conditioning unit, free WIFI internet access, NDD/IDD telephone, en suite toilet and bath, iron and ironing board, cabinets, safety deposit box, a comfortable sitting area by the window, and a mini bar with refrigerator, and a tea and coffee making equipment. Complimentary bottled water that are replenished daily were also provided.
The toilet and bath is also spacious, clean, and well-lit. It has a wide sink with huge mirror, clean water closet, and a separate shower area with hot & cold shower feature and excellent water pressure. Toiletries and bathroom amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, vanity and dental care kits, hair dryer and clean bath and hand towels were also provided.
OTHER ROOMS
Aside from the Deluxe Double Room, Best Western Metro Clark also has 3 other room categories: Deluxe Queen Room, Executive Suite, and Presidential Suite. Assisted by one of the hotel staff, we were given the chance to check on the other rooms and the hotel facilities. I love the hotel's elegant and classy interiors. It has long hallways that are well lit and exudes a very cozy feel.
DELUXE QUEEN ROOM
This room has the same features and amenities with our room. Just that, the Deluxe Queen Room has a huge queen bed ideal for couples or a single person.
EXECUTIVE SUITE
Spacious and inviting, the Executive Suite offers bigger space, endowed with comfort prefect for those lazy days away from home. The design and feel of the room is minimalist yet very modern. The room has a king-size bed coupled with clean white linens, comforter and fluffy pillows. It also has cable-ready 42-inch flat screen LED TV mounted on the wall and other essential room amenities. The toilet and bath is also spacious, clean and well-organized. Truly impressive! I like it so much as there's not too much clutter, only the essentials are inside the room. The color combination and the indirect lighting inside are very nice!
PRESIDENTIAL SUITES
My jaw literally dropped when we entered the Presidential Suite. It features an elegant living room, a modern dining area and a small kitchen complete with a microwave oven, refrigerator, and electric kettle for guests' full comfortable experience. It also has a work area with internet access and a small sitting area by the windows. The toilet and bath is superb; it's clean and really smell fresh. There's a bath tub, shower enclosure with rain shower, water closet, his & her sink with huge mirrors and all the toiletries and towels were provided. This is a haven for those who spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
The bedroom has 1 king-size bed that's so soft and fluffy; it also has huge fluffy pillows, clean and fresh sheets and comforters that compliments it. It also has a 42-inch flat screen LED TV, telephone, and other essential room amenities.
OTHER HOTEL FACILITIES AND AMENITIES
Other amazing hotel facilities await every guest at Best Western Metro Clark. Located at the 4th floor is a lovely roof deck swimming pool with a pool bar where guests could lounge, or have a good swim while enjoying the amazing view of the sunset, Mt. Arayat, and the city.
Located at the hotel's 5th floor is a fitness gym equipped with modern equipment.
They also have a ballroom and several function rooms ideal for any social and corporate events such as weddings, reunions, birthdays, meetings, conferences, and more. The biggest of their function rooms is the Simon & Stanley Hall which is at 405 square meters and could accommodate up to 360 guests for a reception-style event.
F & B SERVICE
For food an beverage service, Best Western Metro Clark has three dining outlets: Spencer's Fusion, Namari Japanese Bistro, and Cactus Jack Smoke House.
SPENCER'S FUSION
Spencer'S Fusion is located at the 4th floor just beside the swimming pool. It serves wide array of cuisines from American, Continental, French and Filipino dishes. This is also where the complimentary buffet breakfast is served from 06:00 am to 10:00 am. It is also open for non-hotel guests from 11:00 am to 02:00 pm for lunch and from 05:00 pm to 10:00 pm for dinner.
NAMARI JAPANESE BISTRO
Another restaurant is the Namari Japanese Bistro located at the hotel's ground floor. It offers a wide variety of sumptuous Japanese dishes that will surely be a delight for any Japanese food lovers. We got to experience their best-selling Teppanyaki Omakase buffet consists of a 7 course meal served on an Izakaya-inspired Japanese bar. For only 1,088 pesos per person, you can enjoy generous servings of miso soup, namari salad, sushi, chicken teriyaki, spicy squid, beef sakoro, miso salmon, ebi tempura, and a dessert. This is definitely a must-try
at Namari Japanese Bistro.
Namari Japanese Bistro is open for the hotel's guests and non-guests. It is open daily from 11:30 am to 12:00 midnight.
CACTUS JACK SMOKE HOUSE
Just beside Namari is Cactus Jack Smoke House which is a casual dining restaurant that offers delicious American cuisines. They also have live entertainment. acoustic sessions, themed nights, and DJs on a weekly line up. This is the perfect place to hangout or grab a few drinks after a long day of work or after exploring the city.
