TRAVEL TIP: How to Get to Banaue from Manila


Banaue is one of the major tourist destinations in Ifugao province. It is the main jump-off point for various tourist spots and attractions in Ifugao and Mountain Province. Travel time from Manila to Banaue is about 8 to 9 hours via North Luzon Expressway, then passing through the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya. Most of the buses leave at night, bus fare is around 450 to 500 pesos, depending on which bus company you're taking. How to get to Banaue? It is very easy, here are your options.


1. Via Ohayami Bus Company

Ohayami Bus Company has direct trips daily to Banaue, Ifugao. Their terminal is located in Lacson Avenue, corner Fajardo St., Sampaloc Manila (near University of Sto. Tomas). They only have one trip daily. But every Friday and during peak season, they have one extra trip at 9:00 PM. Fare is around 450 pesos for Manila to Banaue and vice versa.

07:00 PM - Banaue - Manila

Additional Bus Schedules every Friday and peak season.
09:00 PM - Manila - Banaue (during peak season)
06:45 PM - Banaue - Manila (during peak season)

2. Via GV Florida Bus

GV Florida Bus Company also has a direct trip going to Banaue. Their terminal is located in Lacson Avenue Corner Earnshaw Street, Sampaloc Manila. Fare is around 500 pesos for Manila to Banaue and vice versa.

08:30 PM - Banaue - Manila

NOTE: There's also another Florida bus that leaves Manila at 8:35 PM bound for Bontoc, Mountain Province. You could also take that as it passes by Banaue, Ifugao.

3. Alternative Route

If Ohayami or GV Florida buses are full (especially during peak seasons), you can take Victory Liner or Florida Bus going to Tugegarao City in Cagayan. Alight in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya then take a jeepney to Lagawe, Ifugao then take another jeepney to Banaue.

TRAVEL TIP: When you arrive in Banaue it is highly recommended that you reserve your ticket going back to Manila.
