Lanao del Norte - The Rushing and Raging Mimbalut Falls

No two waterfalls are alike; and this makes me more excited to visit another. Mimbalut Falls is another must-see when visiting Iligan City. Located at Barangay Buru-un, near the boundary between Iligan City and the municipality of Linamon, it is frequented by locals and tourists because of its accessibility from the national road. At approximately 90 ft high, this breathtaking falls with cool refreshing waters is an ideal place for swimming and enjoy its strong water gushing from the top.

It is so lovely, untouched and natural. Surrounded by lush greens that makes it more alluring.

There are also picnic tables available for those who want to while away some time, enjoy the quiet scenery and listen to the sound of the strong water rushing down the stream.

HOW TO GET THERE
From the city proper, take a Buru-un route jeepney. Tell the driver to drop you at Iligan City National School of Fisheries or simply at the corner road to Mimbalut. Fare is 13.00 PHP and travel time is about 15-20 minutes. From there, take a habal-habal (motorcycle) and ask the driver to take you to the falls or you may walk for a few minutes by taking the off road trail beside the School.
