RESORTS IN ANILAO BATANGAS: Post-climb Swimming at Aquaventure Reef Club in Anilao

I'm done with the mountaineering part of this trip. Let me now bring you to the more relaxing part of it. Post-climb swimming!!! Woohoo!!! So, when we reached the jump-off point of the climb, we checked on Philpan Dive Resort to freshen up with a good swim. But the beach's waves are "un-swim-able" due to the big waves at that time, we opted to find a resort nearby with a swimming pool.

Our restless feet brought us to Aquaventure Reef Club, a few meters away from Philpan. At the first sight of it, we thought it was a high-end resort and will cost us a lot. We later found out that a day tour costs 550 pesos (consumable) per person. Whoa! We, poor mountaineers couldn't afford that. Huhuhu!

But, we really wanted to swim here. They have a swimming pool and the resort is really nice. So, we use our "innate charm" and bargained for a cheaper deal. Good thing their staff are very nice and gave us a great deal for 300 pesos per head, which is still consumable. Woohoo!!! We immediately grab the deal! Hehehe!!!

Aquaventure Reef Club is located in Anilao, Mabini in Batangas, "Luzon’s premier dive destination". They offer a number of spectacular dive sites where one can live a real diver's dream. They have aircon and fan-cooled single, double, triple, and quadruple rooms available for guests who wish to stay overnight. Here, you can go for diving, boating, snorkeling, swimming or simply have a family picnic by the beach.

The resort features native, rustic design that strongly gives Filipino ambiance for a great relaxation. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating. I met the manager, Ms. Lady and she was very hospitable and made us feel at home.

We had our lunch using the consumable entrance fee at their restaurant while enjoying the breathtaking view of the sea. By the way, the food is good and an overflowing "brewed barako coffee" is available for the guests.

Their swimming pool is very well-maintained and clean. We had a dip and had fun playing around while enjoying some bottles of beer and servings of halo-halo.

The beach is also quite good for a swim. Unfortunately, the waves are really though during that time.

We truly enjoyed our stay here and we're planning to come back and take their intro to dive course. Hopefully soon! (fingers crossed...)

If you want to be mesmerized by the colorful corals in the clear waters of Anilao (I have to experience it soon!), I recommend Aquaventure Reef Club and enjoy a weekend away from your usual life in the city.

This is part of the Sosyal Klaymers' Mt. Gulugod Baboy Climb that happened last August 28-29, 2011 in Anilao, Mabini Batangas. It was a climb full of fun, camaraderie, triumphs and friendship in celebration of our group's 2nd anniversary. To date, this is the 11th mountain on my list.
