Guimaras - Guisi Point Lighthouse and Guisi Beach in Nueva Valencia

Once we have settled at Raymen Beach Resort in Sitio Alubihod in the town of Nueva Valencia, we asked our driver/guide to bring us to Guisi to see the Lighthouse and take a dip in the beach. We have agreed for an additional 150 pesos for our rent on his tricycle. Travel time is around 20-25 minutes.

This 18th century Guisi Point Lighthouse is located in Brgy. Dolores in the town of Nueva Valencia. A short hike will take you to the lighthouse built on top of a hill during the Spanish-colonial time. It was built to guide passing ships cruising along the Guimaras Strait.

This is one of many attractions that Guimaras Island offers. It is considered as the 2nd oldest lighthouse in the Philippines, next to the one in Cagayan. The ruins below the lighthouse is also a great pictorial spot for camwhores like us. Hehehe!!!

The view is breathtaking on top of Guisi Light House, a short costline of golden-yellow sand, coconut trees facing sparkling clear waters and stunning rock formations. Indeed, Guisi beach is something to look forward to.

It is located just a short walk from the lighthouse, you just need to go down a make-shift ladder to reach this pristine, unexploited beach. See video below.

The beach area is just a perfect place for us, as we enjoy swimming on beaches that are not crowded. Though the sand is filled with rocks, we still enjoyed taking a dip in its clear waters. The coastline is good enough for lying on the sand and rocks all day. But staying at a nearby resort, the Guisi Clearwater Resort is recommended if you want to explore the town of Nueva Valencia more. But since we have checked-in at Raymen Beach Resort, we just took some time to experience the beach.

Another tricycle ride going back to our resort in Sitio Alubihod. Thanks to our guide (the kid) in Guisi Lighthouse and to our tricycle driver who has been patient in waiting for us to finish swimming in the beach. We gave him 500 pesos for the whole trip. Thanks po Kuya!
