AIRLINE TRAVEL ADVISORIES and CANCELLED FLIGHTS due to Taal Volcano Eruption

With regards to the recent eruption of Taal Volcano in Batangas, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has temporarily suspended operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from 19:00 and 23:00 local time on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Also, the Manila International Airport Authority (@MIAAGovPH) released an advisory pertaining to flights leaving and arriving from Manila. "Due to the eruption of the Taal Volcano, all flights, both arrival and departures are now on hold. Passengers are advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for flight updates."

UPDATE: Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport's closure was extended beyond 11:00 PM of January 12, 2020, until further notice according to Manila International Airport Authority and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific Air also released an advisory for their flights.

Taal Volcano eruption
As of 6:30pm, January 12, 2020

Airport authorities have requested airlines to hold flights to and from Manila as ash caused by the phreatic eruption of Taal Volcano falls over the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Air Asia Travel Advisory


MANILA, 12 January 2020 - On advice from airport authorities in Manila, AirAsia will suspend and cancel domestic and international flights to/from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) due to the eruption of Taal Volcano.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has temporarily suspended operations at NAIA between 19:00 and 23:00 local time on Sunday, 12 January.

PAL Travel Advisory


Please be advised that the Manila Airport has been declared CLOSED from 7PM to 11PM today January 12 (Sunday) due to volcanic ash emissions that have reached Manila skies.

The temporary closure of the Manila Airport is based on a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

The following arriving PAL flights have been diverted to Clark:

PR 331 Xiamen - Manila

All flights originally scheduled to depart from Manila between 7PM and 11PM have been declared CANCELLED.
