But my stars aligned... and the universe conspired...

I was invited by MMI Live, the Philippine organizer of Dinner In the Sky, to be one of the first guests to experience Dinner in the Sky Philippines at Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City. With this, let me share to you my top 5 reasons why you should experience Dinner in the Sky.

1. It's a unique experience

It's the first of its kind in the Philippines. Imagine having a 4-course fine-dining dinner at 150 feet above the ground? It's definitely a thrilling new dining experience! What could be better than that?!

2. It's safe

Dinner in the Sky's guests are assured of the safety of this unique restaurant because they really follow certain standards and safety precautions. All concepts are designed according to German norm DIN 4112. The table is built in Belgium and all drawings, calculations and simulations are tested by TÜV Rhineland, a global provider of technical, safety, and certification services.

The staff discuss to you the safety regulations before the "flight", then they will guide you to your assigned seat which is like a roller coaster ride seat, put on your harness, and checks if you're safely seated and secured on your seat. Safety instructions were also given before the restaurant goes up to assure that all is well and safe during the dining experience.

3. Variety of food offerings

Featured chefs will be different every week. Chef Hylton of Waterside from April 2 to 8, Chef Alan of Finestra from April 9 to 15, Chef Norimasa of Yakumi from April 16 to 23, Chef Kenneth Cacho from April 24 to May 7, and Chef Yves Mattagne from May 8 to 21. They will all serve a avriery of 4-course or 5-course dinner set menus each week. Best of all, vegetarian menu is also available.

4. The food is superb!

Our dinner is composed of a 4-course meal specially prepared by Chef Hylton Le Roux of Solaire Resort and Casino's Waterside. It started with Tuna Tiradito which has aji amarillo paste, lime pickled red radish, and cassava crunch. Then we had the second course which is Anticuchos de pollo with tamarind habanero glaze, mojo verde, baby beetroot, and crispy cancha corn. Yummmmm!

For the main course, diners have two options. One is Mexican adobo spice Atlantic salmon and the Cuban style slow cooked pork belly. I chose the Cuban style slow cooked pork belly which has Mojo sauce, agave roast baby carrots, and spicy refried beans. It is sooooo good! Rice na lang ang kulang! Hahaha!

For dessert, Chef Hylton Le Roux presented it in a very interactive way that brought out the creativity in us. He first gave us some small glasses of ingredients that includes praline, chocolate texture, candied popcorn, meringue, the Dulche de leche cheesecake dome, and some caramel and chocolate syrups. He then told us to plate our own dessert. And the diner who could show him the best plating will win a prize. Everyone got so excited and started to plate their own dessert.

And here's my plating of my dessert. Hehehe! Obviously, it's not a winning piece, so I didn't win. Hahaha! But I enjoyed my dessert a lot!

5. Breathtaking Sunset and cityscape

As it is held at the esplanade of Solaire Resort and Casino right beside the bay, you'll be gifted with a stunning view of Manila bay's sunset. At night, you be greeted with Manila's city lights while enjoying your food. But for me, since I love sunsets, the best time to dine is at 5:30 pm flight schedule during sunset.

The seat is comfortable (like a car seat), has a foot rest so your feet will not be left dangling in the air, and you can swivel and recline it for a better view of the surroundings. I love it!

I'm sure it will be awesome and memorable bonding experience with your family, friends, or special someone. Definitely, Dinner in the Sky is a unique dining experience you wouldn't want to miss!
