Review on the online transfer booking service Kiwitaxi

Review on the online transfer booking service Kiwitaxi

Have you ever ordered a taxi or a transfer when traveling abroad? If you are used to planning the trip yourself, you have probably done it a couple of times. It rarely concerns backpackers, young couples without children and experienced travelers. Another story is when you travel for the first time, do not speak the language of the country visited,are traveling within a big group or with children: it makes sense to order a car with a driver to get from the airport to your destination.

A taxi vs. a transfer?

If I need a taxi, I usually get it on site. It may be problematic sometimes: for example, if I have to exchange the currency right upon arrival. Besides, you cannot just get the car you want, as in some airports, such as Charles de Gaulle or Suvarnabhumi, there are lines for taxis. You take what is offered. Otherwise, you will have to wait another 15 minutes standing.

That’s the reason, I decided to try a more comfortable travel option and choose the online transfer booking service Kiwitaxi. As stated on the website, the service is present in 82 countries and 467 airports around the world, and offers its clients a wide range of vehicles from an Economy class car to a bus for up to 19 passengers.

User-friendly site

Kiwitaxi site is absolutely easy to use. You choose the route and the car class, specify the pick-up date and place, make a prepayment and enter your contact details. Right after that you receive an e-mail with the voucher containing the information of your trip and the contacts of your driver. No wasted time and no need to fill in extra forms.

Affordable prices

In most cases the transfer prices are not higher than of local taxis. Moreover, the price includes meeting at the airport, help with your luggage, and a polite English-speaking driver.

Extra options

Kiwitaxi provides comfortable features for its service:
  • fixed prices for routes without any hidden payments;
  • partial or full online payment for transfers;
  • meeting at an airport/railway station with a name sign;
  • help with luggage, fresh drinking water;
  • an English-speaking driver and an English-speaking manager supervising the trip;
  • a good range of vehicle classes: Economy, Comfort, Minivan, VIP, and different minibuses for 7 to 19 passengers;
  • additional options (child seats, Wi-Fi, return transfer).

Customers’ feedback

The feedback on Kiwitaxi service is mostly positive and the clients in most cases recommend the service. However, there were negative comments, too, but the company seems to always be open to dialogue and ready to make a refund in case the transfer didn’t fully satisfy the client. By the way, on Kiwitaxi website feedback page there are plenty of international comments - in Spanish, Italian, Russian, etc. So it is obvious that this service is truly worldwide.

My feedback

I am satisfied with the service. The website is easy to use, the transfer prices are affordable for an average traveler, and the feedback shows that the company is trustworthy: it communicates with its clients actively and is ready to help in any situation. By the way, they also have the online chat, where very nice manager reply quickly and very politely.

To sum up, the online transfer booking service will be very handy for inexperienced travelers or those do not want to use public transport. This would be extremely convenient for mothers with children and aged people. Don’t risk to take a taxi on site - you may get a smoked car without any child seats, and the trip price will be set by the driver. It’s much easier and safer to pay for your trip in advance via your card and in the preferable currency, and then be met at the airport by the professional driver.
