BUDGET HOTEL REVIEW: Red Planet Hotel Ortigas, Pasig City

With too many budget hotels around Metro Manila, it's almost easy to get lost in the midst of "not-so-good" budget hotels. But there's one value hotel that stands out on its own, Red Planet Hotels. I have such fond memories of its amenities and service standards from my previous stays when it was still named as Tune Hotels. So, I really have a certain level of expectations that I have set in mind whenever I stay here.

Just few months ago, what we used to know as Tune Hotel was re-branded into to Red Planet Hotel (Check rates online). In a press statement released by the company, "It's all about value," Tim Hansing, Chief Executive Officer of Red Planet said. "Value for our customers and creating value for our shareholders. When our guests leave our hotels we want them to think they have made a smart decision by staying with us."

Last month, we stayed at Red Planet Hotel Ortigas for a much-needed weekend staycation and food trip in Kapitolyo, Pasig. As expected, Red Planet Hotel Ortigas did not disappoint. It still features the same quality service and room amenities that I used to know. Located along Shaw Boulevard, it is near commercial, shopping, business and entertainment establishments in Ortigas Center.

Our room is a double room located at the 12th floor. I am so happy with our room and the basic amenities it offers. Their plush yet affordable accommodation is evident in their room which is clean, organized and features modern furnishings. It is characterized with shades of white and earth tone colors which create a relaxing and calming ambiance needed for a good and comfortable sleep.

All the much needed amenities are provided for a comfortable stay. It has a television set with cable channels, en suite toilet and bath, side tables with lamp, safety deposit box, air-conditioning unit, ceiling fan, hair dryer, clothes hanging area, and a full length mirror.

The toilet and bath is spacious and consistently clean. It has a sink, water closet with bidet and high pressured hot and cold shower. Depending on your booking, clean towels and basic toiletries may be provided or can also be availed as an add-on to the basic room rate.


More to that, they invested on technology that makes the stay of every guest fun and truly comfortable.

Being able to access stable and fast WiFi internet is one of the important things I consider when staying in a hotel. At Red Planet Hotel Ortigas, free WIFI internet access is available 24/7 anywhere in the hotel. Connection speed is fast and reliable, even inside the room! I love it! Red Planet Hotel significantly upgraded WiFi connection speeds which is among the fastest in the hotel industry in the Philippines.

More to that, they also released the Red Planet Hotel App which is available on iOS and Adroid devices. With the app, you can chat with the front desk officer, use it as in-house phone and see local attractions and restaurants near you.

Overall, we had a comfortable stay at Red Planet Hotel Ortigas. Their staff are very nice, pleasant, smart and accommodating. If you're looking for a value-for-money hotel in Ortigas Center, Red Planet Hotel is the best place to stay for your business or leisure trips to the city.
