WHERE TO EAT IN BALER: Baler Surfer Grill, "Baler's Ultimate Grilling Sensation"

How about a good meal after a long day of exploring the sights and attractions in Baler or surfing the mighty waves of Sabang Beach? Indeed, Baler has a lot of dining options to offer, but one that stands out from the rest is Baler Surfer Grill located at the Baywalk Area along Sabang Beach. It is a humble outdoor dining venue that offers an interesting list of dishes that will surely satisfy your cravings for good food.

Baler Surfer Grill is set on a lovely space fronting the beach offering diners with an awesome ambiance of a nipa hut, tall coconut trees, surf board decors, a few wooden chairs and accompanied with great music. The star of the restaurant is the Volkswagen beetle car (which is actually still working) that was turned into a grilling station where the meals are cooked. A unique and trendy concept that I certainly love!

Together with my friends, we went to Baler Surfer Grill to experience a unique dining experience of grilling on a Volkswagen and to have a taste of their famous barbeque dishes with special home-made sauce.

Dishes are served in a very appetizing presentation using a wooden chopping board. The full set meals aptly called Surfer Meal-PRO costs 200 pesos each is definitely worth it as it is really quite good and very filling. The best thing is you get to eat it by the beach! How cool is that?!

BULALO BBQ - tender and very flavorful grilled bulalo topped with their special BBQ sauce and served with rice, grilled corn and veggies.

CHICKEN BBQ - tasty grilled chicken served with rice, calamansi, red chili and a special BBQ sauce.

GRILLED FISH - perfectly grilled fish in season paired with special home-made aligue sauce and served with rice, grilled eggplant, red tomato and green chili.

LIEMPO BBQ - special pork belly with home-made BBQ sauce served with rice, buttered mushrooms and caramelized onions.

They also have Starter Meals which are smaller versions of the full set meals and costs less than 100 pesos each. So, if you're appetite is not that big, the starter meal is best for you.

They also serve grilled sausages, burgers, baby back ribs, grilled fish in season and other mouthwatering dishes. I have to try their "hot-off-the-grill burgers" next time. I heard they are quite good!

I certainly loved the concept of turning a Volkswagen into a grilling station. The cool ambiance, that beach vibe and their impressive dishes are just some of the things that sets Baler Surfer Grill apart from the other dining options in Baler.

It has been featured on GMA News TV, Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho and placed #2 at "Ang Pinaka" yummy restaurants in Baler. Certainly, a well-deserved recognition!

They are open every weekend from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturdays and from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Sundays. During summer season or when there are special events or competitions, they are open on other days.
