Cebu, being one of the most urbanized cities in the Visayas can be reached on affordable flights from Manila and other key cities in the country. If you're planning to go to Dumaguete and airfares to the city is quite steep due to limited flights, you might want to consider going there via Cebu. It may be a bit tiring and time consuming since you have to take a bus and a ferry, but it's certainly a cheaper option.

Last weekend, I joined the Bicolanos and devotees of Our Lady of PeƱafrancia in the annual PeƱafrancia Festival in Naga City. This is the 2nd time I came to the city to join the festivities. Together with my travel blogger friends, we were able to secure a good spot along the riverbanks to witness the fluvial procession of "Ina" and patroness of Bicol - the Our Lady of PeƱafrancia.

Higantes Festival is Angono Rizal's annual joyous celebration in honor of San Clemente, the patron saint of fishermen. The parade of the colorful paper-mâché Higantes is part of a two-week long celebration of the Angono's Town Fiesta. This year, several activities were lined up for the Higantes Festival. One of the highlights is the Higantes Grand Parade on November 17, 2013 which usually starts around 7:00 in the morning. The parade is scheduled to start in front of Angono Elementary School going around the town's residential roads and ends at the town plaza.

Since I still have an hour of free time before I go to the airport for my flight back to Manila, I decided to visit the Tamontaka Lourdes Grotto in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. If you're coming from Cotabato City, it is along the way to the airport, around 20 minutes away from the city proper. The grotto is run by a religious congregation, the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. It is known to have a statue of the Lady of Lourdes, a replica of the original in France and is believed to be miraculous.
