Magsukul Sulu! My 80th Province!

At Port of Jolo during the moon sighting activity on August 7, 2013

Assalamu Alaykum! On August 7, 2013, I finally set foot on the province of Sulu, my 80th province! This marks the fulfilment of my challenge to visit all the 80 provinces in the Philippines. It was a mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness as this is by far the most challenging trip I had. I felt ecstatic and overjoyed as my feet first stepped on Sulu soil. The feeling is truly inexplicable.

Inside Sulu Capitol with Ms. Fariza

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped in making this trip possible.

Thanks to Ramil and Edgar of pinasmuna.com and Kirk of kirkanatomy.com for organizing, researching, planning and for everything in making this trip a reality.

Thank you also to Sir Cris of Klasrums ng Pag-Asa for the valuable tips and reminders and for introducing me to Sir Jake and Ms. Thoney of Tausug LENS who helped us get in touch with Ms. Fariza of the office of the Mayor of Jolo and to Ms. Lannie of the tourism office of the Municipality of Jolo. Thank you for organizing our trip and for making sure that everything are well coordinated.

With Honorable Mayor and Mrs. Hussin Amin

Thank you most especially to Jolo Mayor Hussin Amin and his family for graciously accommodating us during our entire stay in Jolo. Words alone cannot express my heartfelt gratitude for everything you have shown to us. Thank you for letting us experience the hospitality of the people of Jolo. Magsukul! Thank you! Salamat po! Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh! ("Peace be unto you and so may the mercy of Allah and His blessings")

This trip to the Province of Sulu happened on August 7-9, 2013. Sulu is the 80th province on my list.
