Discovering the Flavors of the Philippines with Electrolux DiscoverE Food Festival

It's a weekend of mouthwatering Neo-Filipino food as Electrolux Philippines celebrated DiscoverE Food Festival at NBC Tent in Fort Bonifacio Global City Taguig City last June 15 and 16, 2013. The event which gathers different delectable Filipino cuisines from all over the Philippines was filled with fun activities that helped everyone appreciate and learn new Filipino discoveries with the help of Electrolux kitchen appliances.

Carrying out the Department of Tourism's slogan, "It's More Fun in the Philippines", Electrolux Discover-E Food Festival aims to promote creative and mouth-watering Neo-Filipino dishes with delightful native delicacies presented at the festival.

There were a variety of food stalls serving delicious Filipino food. Have a taste of crispy bagnet dishes, empanada from Vigan, kesong puti cheesecake, local chocolates from Bulacan, fresh fruits from Davao and a lot more! It was indeed a journey around the Philippines through the flavors of different Filipino treats.

One of the highlights of the event is the cooking demo of Chef Rosebud Benitez and Chef Bruce Lim where they taught easy to cook and delicious Filipino recipes.

There were also a Media Cook-off Challenge which me and my fellow Travel Blooger, Enrico Dee of Byahilo.com participated. We cooked Chef Bruce Lim's recipe of Bistek Pasta. Luckily, they loved what we cooked, it earned us 1st place at the challenge. It's really easy to cook with Electrolux kitchen appliances!

Guests also had the chance to check out the Electrolux Mobile Home where they can try the kitchen display and cook something with the assistance the stay-in chef. There were also live entertainment, games and raffle draws for a chance to win Electrolux appliances.

Before we left the event, the Student Cook-off Challenge had started. Students from top culinary schools showcased their culinary talents as they compete in the Student Cook-off.
