WHERE TO EAT IN LEGAZPI CITY: Jasmine Restaurant at The Oriental Hotel Legazpi

The Oriental Hotel Legazpi offers not just great accommodations, but also a superb dining experience with their in-house restaurant - The Jasmine Restaurant. Located at the ground floor, the restaurant is known for their scrumptious home-grown favorites, as well as delectable international cuisines. The dining area is quite huge, it could actually sit up to 220 guests and also has 3 private rooms with a capacity of 20 persons each for private and exclusive dining. It is well lit and presents a very cozy and luxurious feel featuring modern fixtures and amenities.

Jasmine Restaurant boasts of its favorite Bicolano fusion cuisines. During our stay they served us Cocido soup, Laing Cordon Bleu, Bagnet ala Bicol Express, Prawn Pinangat and side dishes such as ensaladang talong and green mangoes. For dessert, we had Blueberry Cheesecake, Pili Pannacotta and Mocha Mousse. All I can say is, "they were all delicious." I love how the restaurant altered these all-time favorite Bicolano dishes without actually sacrificing the taste. I like how they added a twist on these dishes. Mouthwatering, flavorful and really a must-try!

Cocido soup is made of clear fish broth with calamansi and sweet potato tops.

Laing Cordon Bleu - the classic Chicken Cordon Bleue with a twust. It was stuffed with ham, cheese and laing - the Bicolano vegetable dish made of taro leaves cooked in coconut milk. Yummy!

Bagnet ala Bicol Express - Ilocos meets Bicol with this sumptuos combination of Bagnet paired with Bicol Express sauce. Thick cut pork belly with rich coconut cream sauce topped with chili fingers. A perfect blend of the north and the south.

Prawn Pinangat, this is my favorite! Delicious prawns were made more mouthwatering by stuffing them with the classic Bicolano dish, the pinangat and then topped cheese.

Blueberry Cheesecake, Pili Pannacotta and Mocha Mousse

At The Oriental Legazpi, these Bicolano cuisines have gotten a good twist which made them more exciting. The Jasmine Restaurant is indeed the place to be for foodies in search of a culinary adventure. I truly enjoyed this awesome food adventure at the Jasmine Restaurant of the Oriental Hotel Legazpi.
