Pinoy Holidays : 2012 Philippine Holidays and Long-weekend Schedule

In a fews days from now, we shall bid 2011 goodbye and say hello to 2012. The Philippine government had officially declared the list of Philippine Holidays for 2012 through Proclamation No. 295. I'm so glad that there will be several long weekends this coming year. I won't be having a hard time booking those promo flights and to plan for my travels for next year. Hehehe!

The list of 2012 Philippine Holidays are as follows:

Regular Holidays
  • January 1 - New Year’s Day (Sunday)
  • April 5 - Maundy Thursday
  • April 6 - Good Friday
  • April 9 - Araw ng Kagitingan (Monday)
  • May 1 - Labor Day (Tuesday)
  • June 12 - Independence Day (Tuesday)
  • August 27 - National Heroes Day - (Last Monday of August)
  • November 30 - Bonifacio Day - (Friday)
  • December 25 - Christmas Day (Tuesday)
  • December 30 - Rizal Day (Sunday)
Special (Non-Working) Days
  • January 23 - Chinese New Year (Monday)
  • August 21 - Ninoy Aquino Day (Tuesday)
  • November 1 - All Saints Day - (Thursday)
  • November 2 - Additional special (non-working) day (Friday)
  • December 31 - Last Day of the Year (Monday)
Special Holiday (for all schools)
  • February 25 - EDSA Revolution Anniversary (Saturday)
Depending on the Islamic Calendar, additional Philippine holidays will be declared for the observation of our Muslim brothers' and sisters' celebration of Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha. List of long Weekends
  • January 21-23, 2012 (Chinese New Year)
  • April 5-9, 2012 (Holy Week and Araw ng Kagitingan)
  • August 18-21, 2012 (calculated date of Eid-al-Fitr and Ninoy Aquino Day)
  • August 25-27, 2012 (National Heroes Day)
  • October 26-28, 2012 (calculated date of Eid-al-Adha)
  • November 1-4 (All Saints’ Day)
  • November 30 - December 2, 2012 (Bonifacio Day)
  • December 29 - January 1, 2013 (New Year)
