
Today, President Benigno Aquino signed Proclamation No. 455, s. 2012, DECLARING MONDAY, 20 AUGUST 2012, AS A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY IN OBSERVANCE OF EID’L FITR (FEAST OF RAMADHAN)
Stated in the proclamation by Malacañang, "in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Monday, 20 August 2012, as a regular holiday throughout the country."

"Wishing our Muslim brothers and sisters Happy Ramadan!"
Nationwide, it will be a 4-day long weekend with August 21 declared as a Special (Non-Working) Holiday in celebration of Ninoy Aquino Day.
As for Davao City, it will be a 5-day long weekend with August 17, 2012 also declared as Special (Non-Working) Holiday in celebration of the "Kadayawan Festival"
