MalacaΓ±ang Palace had just released the list of National, Regular, and Special (non-working) Holidays in the Philippines for 2026 through Proclamation No. 1006 which was signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The proclamation lists 10 regular holidays, 4 special non-working holidays, 1 special (working) day, and 4 additional special (non-working) days for 2026. A few of these holidays fall on a Friday or a Monday which also give the chance for us to enjoy several long weekends in the Philippines.

- New Year's Day – January 1 (Thursday)

- Independence Day – June 12 (Friday)

NOTE: The EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary commemorated in the country on February 25 every year was not among the non-working holidays listed under Proclamation No. 1006. Instead is was declared as Special (Working) Day which falls on a Wednesday.
Additional Holidays in the Philippines for 2026
Meanwhile, the proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha will be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined, in the accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient. The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos will recommend the actual dates on which these holidays shall respectively fall. The President will issue separate proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of these holidays in 2026.
