Eat to your heart’s content and worry about your diet after. During the 4 days we spent in Romblon, we've tried almost all the restaurants in town. Surprisingly, there are many restaurants in Romblon town proper that serve delicious and affordable local and international dishes such as Italian, American, Japanese and Korean dishes.
Where to eat in Romblon? Here are some of the restaurants you shouldn't miss:
1. Jd&G Italian food and real Italian PizzaMenu:
If you're craving for Italian food and real Italian Pizza, Jd&G is the best place for you. The owner who is married to an Italian, is very hand-on in the restaurant. She's also the head chef and always at the restaurant to entertain the guests. They serve breakfast meals, salads, pasta, sandwiches and pizza.
We got to try their Gnocchi with mushroom sauce (Php 230) and their Romblon Pizza (Php 230) filled with longanisa, mushroom, mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. For dessert, their cheesecake is also quite good.
2. Restaurant FujiMenu:
If you're looking for Japanese and Korean dishes, you should check out Restaurant Fuji. Owned by a Japanese who settled in Romblon, they serve a wide array of Japanese and Korean dishes. We got to try their Chicken Katsu with rice and miso soup for 250 pesos and their Gyoza for 150 pesos. This place is definitely a must-try!
3. Island BistroMenu:
Surprisingly good Filipino and American dishes are served at Island Bistro. This nice little hole in the wall restaurant also has very friendly and accommodating staff. We got to try their Crispy Pork Belly with rice and cucumber pickels (Php 140) and Mahi-mahi (Fish Fillet) Burger with fries for 150 pesos. Quite good food and affordable place to eat in Romblon.
4. Romblon DeliMenu:
This restaurant serves Filipino and international dishes. It one of the best places to eat for breakfast because they open very early at around 7:00 am. We got to try their Bacon & Egg and Sausage & Egg for 155 pesos each.
5. Pineapple Hill Cuisine
Serving Filipino comfort food and desserts, Pineapple Hill is a nice turo-turo-style restaurant located near the port. It's the best place to dine upon arrival or before leaving the island of Romblon. Must-try are their Honey Chicken, Baked Mac, Chicken Inasal and Desserts such as Crema de Fruta and Brazo de Mercedes. Their dishes are quite affordable too!
Don't miss these restaurants when traveling to Romblon.
The province of Romblon is a group of several islands located south of mainland Luzon and can be accessed by air or by RORO from Batangas City Port. You'll have spend ample amount of time or visit it several times for you to really experience what the province has to offer. I am definitely coming back to visit Tablas and Sibuyan islands, soon!
