If you've been following my blog, you probably know by now that I love visiting old structures, specifically heritage houses and sites. That is why, I am so happy and delighted when Orchid Garden Suites Manila invited us for an overnight stay to check out one of their lovely guest rooms and to also enjoy their hotel facilities and amenities.
Located along Vito Cruz (now Pablo Ocampo St.) in the Malate District of Manila, Orchid Garden Suites (read reviews) is an impressively beautiful pre-war mansion converted into a lovely boutique hotel. The charming art-deco structure of the old mansion was adaptively re-used as a classy lobby of the hotel. And a new 14-storey building was built behind the mansion which houses 98 guest rooms of the hotel.
Upon arrival at the Orchid Garden Suites Manila, I was instantly impressed by the hotel's old-world charm and very welcoming ambiance. I felt like I was transported to the olden times.
We then proceeded to the reception area to check-in. We were welcomed by the hotel staff and assisted us with our booking.
Checking-in was a breeze. Since we already have a reservation, it only took us about 5 minutes and we were ushered to our lovely Executive Suite.
Executive Suite
Our room is a 48 sq. meter, one-bedroom suite which feels more like someone's condominium unit rather than a hotel room. Elegant and spacious; it has separate living and dining areas, as well an en suite toilet and bath and a kitchen that comes with complete kitchen facilities.
It has one bedroom highlighted by a comfy and well-fixed double bed complemented with clean white sheets and soft pillows.
Our room is also equipped with all the much-needed amenities for a comfortable stay, such a television set, telephone, cabinets, luggage rack, mini bar with refrigerator and a coffee & tea-making equipment.
As I checked on the toilet and bath, I was also impressed. It is spacious and clean. It has hot and cold shower, a sink, bathtub and a water closet with bidet spray. Clean towels, slippers and toiletries such as bath soap, shampoo with conditioner and dental care kits were also provided.
Other Rooms
Orchid Garden Suites has a total of 98 guest rooms, each offering clean and comfortable accommodations to the delight of its valued guests. They are categorized into Standard, Executive, Superior, Family, Grand Suite, Penthouse, Presidential Suite and Upper Penthouse Suite.
Assisted by one of their staff, we were able to check on some of the other rooms. They are all spacious and well-kept. Each room offers facilities and amenities that cater to the varying needs of its guests. Here's a sneak peek of the other rooms.

Swimming Pool
One of the nicest features of Orchid Garden Suites is their lovely outdoor swimming pool. This is the perfect place to chill and have a good swim while enjoying your stay. Scattered around the pool are lounges, chairs and tables catering to the guests' needs for a relaxing and comfortable stay.
Cafe Alicia
Orchid Garden Suites also has an in-house restaurant which serves an array of authentic Filipino cuisines as well as familiar comfort food and international dishes. This is also where the complimentary buffet breakfast is served from 6:00 am to 10:00 am daily. But since we checked-out very early in the morning for our trip to Bohol, we didn't have our breakfast at the hotel. Instead, we requested for packed breakfast which we brought to the airport.
WIFI Internet Connection
For someone who always needs to be connected to the internet, their free WIFI access anywhere in the hotel is really an awesome treat! But their WiFi connection needs to be improved. It's good at the lobby area but gets really weak when inside the room.
Other Facilities and Amenities
An exciting array of amenities await every guest at Orchid Garden Suites Manila. Aside from the swimming pool and the restaurant, they also have a business center, shuttle and laundry services, on-call massage service, Lobby Bar and several functions rooms ideal for corporate and social events such as conventions, seminars, weddings, debut, among many others.
Published Room Rates
Published room rates if booking directly from their website is from 3,000 pesos for a Standard Room with buffet breakfast to as much as 18,000 pesos for their Upper Penthouse Suite. Standard check-in time is at 2:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 noon. Maximum number of persons in a room depends on the room type booked.
