TRAVEL GUIDE : Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental - How To Get There, Accommodations, Transportation, Expenses, Itinerary and Contact Details

HOW TO GET THERE

From Cagayan de Oro City Airport to City Center
Taxis are available at the airport, it will cost you around 250 to 300 PHP going to the city center. But if you are on a tight budget, Carmen bound jeepneys are available outside the airport. For only 17 PHP, this is the cheapest way to the city center. Travel time is about 30 minutes.

From Carmen to Plaza Divisoria
Take a jeepney bound for Bonbon and tell the driver to drop you off at Plaza Divisoria. Travel time is about 15 minutes. Fare is 7 PHP.

From the City Center to Cagayan de Oro City Airport
Take a jeepney bound for Carmen and get off at KSY, fare is 7 PHP. From there, take a Lumbia bound jeepney which passes by the airport, fare is about 18 PHP and travel time is around 30 minutes.

TRANSPORTATION

Since Cagayan de Oro is a bustling city, there are several modes of transportation available. Take a jeepney or a motorella when going around the city or take a bus when going to Camiguin, Bukidnon, Butuan, Iligan or as far as Ozamiz, Pagadian and Dipolog.

There are three integrated bus and jeepney terminals in the City:

Agora Market City Bus Terminal offers regular land trips to and from Davao City, Malaybalay and Valencia City, Kabacan, Butuan, Gingoog City and Balingoan.

Bulua-Westbound Bus Terminal offers regular land trips to and from Western towns of Misamis Oriental, Iligan City, Marawi City, Tangub and Ozamiz City, Pagadian, Zamboanga and Dipolog City.

Gusa-Eastbound Jeepney Terminal offers regular land trips to and from Eastern towns of Misamis Oriental, Camp Philips, Manolo Fortich, Libona, Valencia and Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

ACCOMMODATIONS

There are a number of accommodations available in the City, from expensive hotels and resorts to cheap and affordable hostels, guest houses, inns and lodging facilities. The cheapest that I was able to find was King Lawrence Inn, a single room is only 200 PHP a night.

King Lawrence Inn
Address: Capistrano Street, Cagayan de Oro City
Room Rates: starts at 200 pesos per night for a non air-conditioned single room
Contact Details: (088) 857-3728
Notes: Near Plaza Divisoria and Save More. The room and common toilet and bath are clean. I highly recommend this hostel when you stay in Cagayan de Oro City.

  11. Your day tour in Camiguin is not realistic. From Balingoan to Benoni takes 2 hours. This does not include buying of tickets and loading of passengers and vehicles. The tour proper starting from giant clams up to ruins 1 hour lng ? Giant clam is in Guinsiliban while Ruins is in Catarman. Maybe hindi ka bumababa. Walkway is 1 hour going up non stop walking. This does not include picture taking. 30 minutes pababa pede na. Katibawasan falls hindi kaba nag picture taking man lang. Going back to balingoan syempre loading ng passenger and vehicles uli.
