I was invited at the Cocoon Boutique Hotel last Saturday to participate in their celebration of Earth Hour 2017. I've participated at the Earth Hour celebrations last year so I was excited and thrilled as I was invited to join the said event this year. I heard a lot of good feedback about the hotel already so I did not hesitate to visit them since I haven't given the chance to visit them yet.
Cocoon Boutique Hotel (Check rates online) is Philippine’s first truly Green Hotel in Quezon City. Caring for and nurturing the environment is at heart of everything that they do at Cocoon. From the amenities to the cooling systems, to the décor, sustainability is built into every detail of its structure. Cocoon Hotel strives to provide the ultimate in comfort to the guests, with the least impact on the earth and her delicate eco-system.
For a commuter like me, Cocoon Boutique Hotel is easy to locate and very accessible. There are plenty of ways how you can get there without a hassle. It was surrounded by different establishments from bars, malls, and restaurants. (See reviews online)
The lobby is not that big but it gave me chills because I love mirrors and glasses so much. It has a huge mirror at the sides that will do the trick to make the lobby look bigger. The interiors and design were noticeable too. I also found out that they used reclaimed woods, second-hand items from different establishments, and other recycled materials from demolished structures. Now I know the reason why the hotel looks classic and antique but still classy and luxurious.
Cocoon's hallway is one of my favorite hotel hallways I've ever seen, to be honest. I don't know if I'm being biased but I really prefer the classic aura rather than anything else.
As expected, I was impressed with the room too. It was spacious, both for the bathroom and the room itself. They have inverter type airconditioners using non-ozone-damaging R410A refrigerant for all the rooms. (Check rates online)
The art wall came from individual scrap wood pieces and they used large windows for natural lightings since they have dim lights for the room. Other amenities includes 42 inches SMART LED cable TV WIFI-ready with USB port for DVD & MP3, absorption-type mini refrigerators, coffee/tea making facility, structured cabling system for high-speed internet, hair dryer, weighing scale, and 3-units IDD/NDD telephone set-up. I have to compliment the pillows and bed too. It's super comfy and relaxing.
For the bathroom, they have deep-soak bathtubs, rain shower with hot and cold water, and eco-certified 100% organic bathroom amenities.
I checked in around 3 pm and was able to prepare for the Cocoon Boutique Earth Hour that was held on the deck at 8 pm. It was indeed a fun and memorable night. I learned something from the speakers and I did not regret that I participated in the event.
I was a little tired after the Earth Hour but I was thankful Cocoon let me stay for the night. I woke up early the next day because I was excited to finish my breakfast and try their pool. Cocoon's in-house bar and restaurant is located on the deck. It has an urban edible organic roof garden grown through an eco-friendly system, adult pool with four jets for hydro massage, kiddie pool with a bubbler, and a rain shower with hot and cold water.
