If you are planning to head to Tenerife for your holidays this year with the kids, these fantastic outdoor activities will keep them entertained. Wherever you are staying on the island, there are plenty of things to do and see. Here’s a guide to the top activities in Tenerife in 2016, so you can plan ahead!
Aqualand, Costa AdejeSpending days by the same pool can get quite boring for the kids, but Aqualand will be sure to lift their spirits. Located in the popular tourist resort of Costa Adeje and with a free bus service to the park from pick up points in the resort, the little ones will be sure to have company of the same age.
Boasting adrenaline-pumping waterslides, a relaxing lazy river and even an award-winning (IMATA) dolphin show, there is something to keep every member of the family entertained. Sunbeds are placed all the way around the park so even if you’re just chilling you won’t be far from all of the action.
Monkey Park, Los CristianosTake a trip to the Monkey Park in the popular town of Los Cristianos, where you can get up close to the variety of animals that roam the zoo. Feed the monkeys from your hand and touch the shells of the old-aged tortoises. As well as being a great day out for the family, it’s a fantastic way to educate the kids about the residents of the zoo.
Dolphin and whale watchingCatch the magical sight of the dolphins and whales that swim the sea between Tenerife and the island of La Gomera. Regarded as one of the best whale and dolphin watching sites in the world, hopping onto a boat and experiencing the wonders of the acrobats of the sea is a must, the kids will love it!
Hunting for wildlifeChildren love to hunt insects and find animals roaming across their path, so if you’re taking a trip to one of Tenerife’s magnificent beaches, then look out for some of its well-known wildlife. Species of birds and reptiles such as the Tenerife lizard are a great sight to see, with its brightly coloured markings you’re most likely to see it warming up on the rocks near the shores.
Model village, La OrotavaSpend a couple of hours walking around the beautifully created model village at Pueblo Chico in La Orotava. The village boasts amazing detail of the Canary Islands and their most famous villages. Touring mini-Tenerife is a great way to educate and entertain the kids when on holiday on the island.
