Now on its third year, Big Bite!, one of the biggest food festivals in Luzon officially opens this morning at Marquee Mall in Angeles City Pampanga. As one of the much-anticipated gastronomical feasts in the country, over 100 vendors from Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and Cordillera Administrative Region joined this year's Big Bite, "The Northern Food Festival," bringing together the best of the northern flavors in one place.
This is my first time to join the Big Bite Food Festival, and I was really amazed with the huge selection of local favorites in the food market that showcases unique, local homegrown food products and food concepts from Northern Luzon. Here's a sneak peek on what to expect at Big Bite's food market.
As part of this year's Big Bite! The Northern Food Festival, a Grand Sisig Cook-off was held this morning during the grand launch. Three popular Sisig variations from Pangasinan, Ilocos and Pampanga were featured. Chef Jacki dela Cruz whips up the Ilocano version called "dinakdakan", Chef Danilo Maramba cooks Pangasinan version, replacing pork with Bangus, while Chef Sau del Rosario prepares the traditional Kapampangan Pork Sisig.
Big Bite! will also showcase daily inter-school culinary cook-offs from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, live cooking demos by renowned chefs every 6:00 - 7:00 pm and live entertainment from 7:00 pm onwards.
The Big Bite! The Northern Food Festival is in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, North Luzon Expressway, Angeles City Tourism Office and Lifestyle Network. It will run from October 16, 2015 until October 18, 2015 at Marquee Park in Marquee Mall Pampanga.
