BORACAY DE CAVITE - Marine Base (Katungkulan) Beach Resort in Ternate, Cavite

Boracay de Cavite - Marine Base Katungkulan Beach Resort in Ternate Cavite
Beaches Near Manila: Boracay de Cavite

Boracay de Cavite (as most people would call it) is a small cove located inside Gregorio Lim Marine Base in Calumpang Ternate, Cavite. Officially named Katungkulan Beach Resort, it is one of the nicest beaches near Manila featuring a beach that has gray-ish sand (not white, though in photos it would look like white to off-white) that is so fine and soft to the feet. One of the most striking features of Boracay de Cavite is the towering stone wall on one side of the cove perfect for your "selfie" and "cam-whoring" moments. The water is not turquoise blue, but its clean. Corregidor Island and the Mariveles mountain range in Bataan are also visible from the cove. Isn't awesome?

Boracay de Cavite - Marine Base Katungkulan Beach Resort in Ternate Cavite

Being a Caviteño, I never thought that we could still find this kind of beach in Cavite. Located just 50 kilometers away from our house in City of Imus, this trip is just a "quick summer getaway" with my brother, aunts and pamangkins. From our home, we drove for about 1.5 hours all the way to Ternate Cavite. At the gate, we paid 100 pesos each as entrance fee for day swimming.

Since Boracay de Cavite is still about 2-3 kilometers away from the gate of the Marine Base, we got back to our car and drove towards the cove. Upon arrival at the beach resort's gate, we parked our car at the designated parking area.

As a beach near Metro Manila, the resort can be crowded to overcrowded during summer, holy week, weekends and long weekends. Since it's summer and also a weekend when we went there, I was not surprised that the the resort is so crowded. In fact, there were no available cottages - they were all taken. Good thing we brought our own foldable table and just settled at one side of the beach.

We brought my pet dogs, Fiona and Jao with us. This trip actually came out because I want to celebrate my Princess Fiona's recovery from her sickness. Thank God she's now walking again after more than 1 month of being paralyzed. Since its their first time to go on a beach, I let them walk, run and play on the sand. They enjoyed and had so much fun!

I really didn't expect a "Boracay-like" beach. I was just looking for nice beach in Cavite for a quick swim and to bond with my family. I enjoyed this day with my pets, my brother and some relatives. A "once in a blue moon" activity that I think, we should do more often.

Overall, I liked the place. It is recommendable for family outings, team building, reunions or for a quick summer getaway with your friends. Kids and adults will definitely enjoy Boracay de Cavite! I will surely come back here next time for an overnight stay. It's certainly one of the nicest beaches in Cavite. Taralets?! :)

TIPS, REMINDERS AND BASIC INFO

  • Entrance Fee is 100 pesos per person for day trip and 200 pesos for an overnight stay. Kids below 6 years old are free.
  • It is suggested that you bring/rent a car as it is not readily accessible by public transportation.
  • Though it is a marine base, Boracay de Cavite is open to the public. You don't need to have "internal connections" to get inside the camp, just tell the guards that you will be swimming at the beach.
  • The place can be crowded to overcrowded during summer, holy week, weekends and long weekends.
  • Parking Fees: Cars are at 50 pesos per day or 100 pesos overnight, while motorcycles are at 10 per day or 20 pesos overnight.
  • You may bring your own food and drinks or you may buy at the store/restaurant inside.
  • One of the stores in the beach resort accepts cooking service for a fee.
  • Cottages are on a "first come, first serve basis", so better go early to get a good spot.
  • Reservation is required for the rooms and cottages for overnight stay.
  • Pitching a tent at the beach area is allowed.
  • Since it is a Marine Base, taking pictures is only allowed in the beach area.
  • Pets are allowed.
  • Reduce and organize your waste. Always practice "leave no trace" principle.
  • Recommended side trips: Kaybiang Tunnel, Maragondon Church (a "National Cultural Treasure"), Bonifacio Trial House and Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine.
  • Also note that there are times that the marine base is closed due to some military exercises held. So, it is better to contact them first before going.

  14. Magkocommute to here from Manila?, or even Imus to here?, nope . I don't think so,maybe if you got a private car from ternate then drive your way there then yes,but better be if you rent a car or have a private vehicle with thee from start to there for comfort too, while I was driving on my way there, public transportion is only up to the municipality of ternate of what I can remember, the rest after that, the road as almost clean and you can't see any other kinds of public transport vehicles but only private vehicles like cars, and motorcycles. Plus the roads a bit steep. Our ford everest could go up and down the roads on its way there easily, but a van fully loaded(like one of our fellow friends who has one goin there with us) or a vehicle with a bit of a low pushing power and with a heavy load carrying, would find it hard or might not even be able to travell to there to go on the inclines of the roads on its way to there. I mean, the roads are like on the top/side of mountains alright, so way up and way down is steepy really, but the roads are nice, they are all paved. Its like the roads too on your way to Bicol (Zigzag Road/Bitukang Manok road/Quezon National Park), napakasteep, but not at that height of steep in there, but almost like it. So I also recommend thee to have/bring more powerful cars/vehicles especially when carrying huge load like bags/boxes,people etc
