After visiting the hot and boiling Lake Agco, we continued wandering around Mt. Apo Natural Park. As we explore, our restless feet brought us to a place enveloped by sulfuric steam coming from the volcanic vents (see video below). We were just enjoying the stunning view of the cliff when a group of men passed by. They invited us to visit their place. Clueless as to what to see in their place, we went and followed them.

The main reason why we went to Kidapawan City in North Cotabato is to visit Lake Agco. It is located inside Mt. Apo Natural Park at the foot of Mt. Apo, the highest mountain in the Philippines. So, on our 2nd day in the city, we woke up early and went to the Kaosa Terminal where we met Kuya Marvin (Contact Number: 0906-961-1114), the habal-habal driver who will bring us up to Lake Agco. We agreed on 100 pesos per head/way. It took us about 45 minutes to reach the park.

After settling our things at AJD Pension House, we went out to the City Center to roam around and get acquainted with the city.

Three to four hours away from Davao City is an undiscovered paradise of Mati City, Davao Oriental. After our morning walk along the long white sand beach of Dahican, we went back to our resort for our scheduled surfing lesson. We have arranged the surfing lessons with the resort's staff the night before and it was schedule at 9:00 AM. Our instructor is already waiting for us when we arrived. After a quick instructions on how to navigate and stand on the board, we went on the water.

Just before the ritual showdown of the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival 2013 started, we went to Leyte Park to check on Bar-ko Resto and Grill. We were invited by the owner to try the dishes in their restaurant located near the prime entertainment establishments in the city. A typhoon just passed by the city and it was only 11:00 in the morning when we arrived, there were only a few people you'll see around.

This small town is located on the river Pripyat, which is approximately 140km from Kiev. After my quick afternoon trip to the town of Basey in Samar where I visited the town's centuries-old church and found the banig makers, I hopped on an ordinary bus bound for Tacloban City. I wanted to reach San Juanico Bridge in time for the sunset and to walk along the bridge again. I alighted the bus before reaching the foot of the bridge at the Samar side. The trip took just about 40 minutes from Basey to Sta. Rita, Samar.

Last weekend, me and my high school friends had our monthly get-together, as well as to celebrate the birthday of one of our friends. We went to the house of the birthday celebrator in Kawit Cavite, where she prepared some food and drinks. Since the town fiesta is to be celebrated in 2 weeks time, across my friend's house is the "Perya". We took the time to visit it and have some fun riding one of the rides.

After offering my short prayer at Basey's centuries-old church, I went down the stairs leading to the road. I asked the locals on how to get to the banig makers. As they say, Basey has the finest and most intricate weave of the banig having unique designs that is different from the usual mats made from other banig producing towns in the country. I won't leave the town without seeing a banig.

I've been to Samar in 2011 but failed to visit the town of Basey (pronounced as "basai or basay"). That's why on my recent trip to Tacloban City for the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival 2013, I planned to have a quick visit to this town known for its church, banig-making industry and the famed Sohoton Cave. Upon arrival in Tacloban City via TigerAir Philippines, I had lunch and settled in our hotel. I fixed my things and readied for my visit to Basey.

If there's one "hole in the wall" food stop that you should try in Kawit, Cavite, it has be the "Hidden Tapsihan". Located along an alley and indeed hidden in a residential area, they are famous in Cavite for having the best-tasting tapa in town. Their old fashioned pinoy tapa is marinated in a sweet sauce that definitely matches the Filipino taste bud; and oh, I have to mention that it's really tender.

On the eve of Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival 2013, heavy rainfall enveloped Tacloban city. An uninvited guest, that goes by the name "Gorio" just arrived and the city was placed under typhoon signal number 1. On the following day, we woke up on a gloomy morning with heavy rainfall and strong winds. Tacloban City and the rest of the province of Leyte is now under typhoon signal number 2. We received messages that the street dancing competition was cancelled by the organizers.
