HOTELS IN MANILA: Remington Hotel Manila, A Comfortable and Affordable Accommodation at the heart of Resorts World Manila

Two weeks ago, I was invited for an overnight stay at Remington Hotel Manila. I was quite excited as it is my first time to spend a night at this hotel located at Resorts World Manila in Newport City, Pasay, Metro Manila. It is right across NAIA terminal 3 and and a few minutes away from NAIA Terminals 1 and 2; a place perfect for passengers catching up their flights at the airport or for families seeking a stay-cation for the weekends. Is it really worth staying here for a night? That I have to know.

Upon arrival at the hotel, I went straight to the reception area to check-in. Since I already have a reservation, I just gave my name and was asked for an identification card and to fill out a registration form. Checking-in was a breeze, it only took me about 5 minutes. I was given my electronic access key card and was ushered to my room by their friendly staff. Since my room is located at the 10th floor, I needed to swipe my key card at the elevator to access the 10th floor. My key card could only access the floor where my room is located. This is a good security measure as it is one of the primary concerns of hotel guests. This security feature assures every guest that no non-hotel guest would just be loitering at the hotel premises and knocking on doors of guests. It's one important security factors when staying in a hotel, to feel and sleep safe and sound anytime of the day. Remington Hotel Manila certainly gives you that "peace of mind".

The most striking aspect about this hotel is that it offer guests a "feel-like-home ambiance". The room that was given to me is truly awesome. I was at awe when I saw how lovely and organized it is. It is minimally decorated and not cluttered. Everything is so well-organized!

I was delighted as I entered! The window side gave a spectacular view of the airport's runway! You could see airplanes take off and land from time to time, but hardly could I hear the sound of the plane's engine. Really nice!

The room has two queen-sized bed that are so soft and fluffy, it is joined to one side by a tiny bed table with a telephone, it has fresh clean white sheets, huge fluffy pillows and blankets that compliments it. I felt like I was melting into the bed as I tried it. It smells so fresh and feels very comfy! This standard room is intended for (2) two adults only. It comes with a complimentary stay for up to (2) two children below (12) twelve years old without an extra bed.

I was quite impressed by some of the much needed facilities equipped inside the room like an LCD TV mounted on the wall, a long desk at the glass window, a safe to keep your valuables and a cabinet. Adjusting the room's temperature to your preferred temperature is not a problem as the room has individually controlled air-conditioning unit. WIFI connectivity is also available inside the room, and it's for FREE! Just ask for the username and password by calling the front desk. Very nice!

As I checked on the toilet and bath, I was impressed. For me, it is very important to have a bathroom that is clean and well organized. From the sink to the toilet bowl, to the cutesy shower area, it's all clean. Toiletries such as shampoo, soap and dental care are all provided. The body and hand towels all smell fresh! Everything I need are all here! Truly awesome! I actually wanted to stay longer inside my room but we need to get going as there are scheduled activities for us that afternoon.

We were assisted by one of their staff to tour around the hotel. I simply love the hotel's elegant interiors. It has long hallways and common areas in the middle of every floor. It is well lit and exudes a very cozy feel. There's also a designated smoking and non-smoking floors and areas.

We were informed that Remington Hotel Manila has 712 rooms, of which 623 are standard rooms, 25 are premier rooms and 64 are service apartments. With an average room size of 21 square meters, this hotel is really quite huge!

We had the chance to check on the other rooms. They showed us their newly-designed Premier Rooms, which offers very homey feel. It features a comfy and fluffy queen-sized bed separated by a sliding wooden door. It also has a sofa that could be converted into a bed for an extra person occupying the room, a dining table, cooking facilities, microwave oven, refrigerator, a bowl of fruits, a bucket of snacks and some drinks. It's toilet and bath is complete will all the toiletries.

The room is simple yet so relaxing!

What surprised me are their rooms for the handicapped or disabled. Each floor has these rooms specially designed for persons with disabilities which has different needs. Its spacious room has 2 single beds which allows more space to move around. The toilet and bath is also designed for disabled persons. Very nice! Each floor has a stand-by wheel chair for use of hotel guests. This is the first time I've been to a hotel that caters to such needs. Very good indeed!

You could find a vendo machine at every floor; drinks and snacks are not a problem in case you get hungry during the wee hours of the night. But if you're craving for some of your comfort food, there's also McDonalds and 7-Eleven convenience store just a walking distance outside the hotel. If you're looking for some really good food, go to the ground floor and dine at R Bar or at Hawker's Restaurant which serves sumptuous Asian cuisines.

They also offer 24/7 free airport shuttle service every hour, on the hour. Just inquire at the Concierge for the schedule.

Remington Hotel Manila may exude an expensive and luxurious type of accommodation as it is located at the heart of Resort's World Manila's 24/7 entertainment and lifestyle facilities alongside with high-end accommodations such as Marriott Hotel Manila and Maxims Hotel; but it's actually not expensive.

With its superb amenities, quality service, proximity to the entertainment center, restaurants, the domestic and international airports, every peso you spend at the hotel is all worth it. I truly enjoyed my stay at Remington Hotel Manila and I'm giving it my two thumbs up!
