Leyte - A Relaxing and Rejuvenating Day at Paruparong Bukid Nature Conservation Center

Paruparong Bukid Nature Conservation Center is located in Brgy. Lukay, Babatngon, Leyte, just a 30-minute drive from Tacloban City. Situated amidst green fields with a stunning view of nearby mountains, it is a wellness center that offers detoxification programs and other activities such as kayaking, fishing, butterfly and bird watching among others. They also offer food selections that were prepared using veggies and fruits that were organically produced.

Upon arriving at the center, we were treated with a welcome drink called green smoothie. It is a mixture of some blended fresh fruits and leafy greens. Certainly refreshing and healthy!

Then we went to the area were we kayaked through the mangroves and nipa palms all the way to La Isla Bonita. Kayaking through the lush mangroves is so relaxing! I was just enjoying my time, taking photos and savoring the serene surroundings!

When we reached the island, our guides climbed the tall coconut trees and get some fruits for us. It's so sweet and refreshing!

When we returned to the wellness center, they told us that lunch was ready. Perfect after almost 2 hours of kayaking activity! :)

They served us healthy and organic meals. We had radish salad, sushi with raw vegetables, raw corn and carrots salad, laing, organically grown tilapia fried in lauric oil and rice colored with blue ternate flower. All were delicious!

I truly enjoyed our lunch! I actually ate a lot but feel light and not bloated. Yum yum!

We rested for a while and readied for our next activity. I had a rejuvenating massage, while Eric had a body scrub. Their in-house therapists are really good and extra pleasant. They are well-trained and go beyond an extra mile in providing excellent service to their guests. It was so relaxing that I slept most of the time while the massage is going-on. Hahaha!

Our last activity for the day was a 30-minute guided meditation session. We were taught to just clear our mind, concentrate and focus on our breathing. It was a very good activity! I enjoyed it!
