Pinoy Festivals: Photos from Masskara Festival 2012 Street Dance Performance (School Category)


Araneta street in Bacolod City was on festive mood as the Street Dancing competition for the schools category of Masskara Festival happened last Saturday, October 20, 2012. Street performance comprises 50% of the total score while the other 50% is judged during the arena competition at the City Public Plaza.

Seven elementary and 4 secondary schools fought for the championship crown. Emerging as winners are Luisa Medel National High School for the high school category, who also won Best in Concept and Best in Choreography, and Sum-ag Elementary School for the elementary level, who also goes home with a Best in Concept award.

Cash prizes for the high school and elementary categories are as follow:
Champion - Php 50,000
First runner-up - Php 30,000
Second runner-up - Php 20,000
Third runner-up - Php 10,000
Fourth runner-up - Php 10,000

  2. The photos are awesome! Sayang I arrived Sunday lang and did not experience much of the streetdancing. But I enjoyed the vibe during the last night at Lacson St. It was so fun! =)

  4. nice and very colorful, parang carnival ng brazil. with more support and exposure from the local government - Philippines is indeed a top tourist destination and so is this site. More power po PinoyAdventurista !!!
