RESORTS IN VIRAC, CATANDUANES: An Overnight Stay at Twin Rock Beach Resort

After exploring and riding the waves of Puraran beach, visiting the PAGASA Radar Station, Bato Church and Maribina Falls, we went to Twin Rock Beach Resort where we will be spending the 2nd night of our Catanduanes adventure. Located southeast of Virac, it is one of the best known and developed resorts in the province.

We took one of their airconditioned Deluxe Rooms which costs 1,500 pesos/night plus additional 100 pesos for extra bed. Located a bit far from the resort's gate, we were ushered by their friendly staff to our room. The room is quite big. It has a private toilet and bath with hot and cold shower, 2 huge beds, a cabinet and a television set. It also has a veranda where you could have your meals. The accommodation also comes with a complimentary breakfast for two. It's quite a good deal!

The only problem that we had is to where we could charge our gadgets. The room only has 2 available sockets that you can use. One socket already allotted for the television set and only one was left for you to share if you need it. Can you guess where it is located? At the ceiling! Hahaha! I suggest, you bring an extension cord so you could share the electric socket if you need to charge the batteries of your gadgets.

After fixing our things, we went out to check on some of their amenities. The resort's landscape is very appealing to the eyes. The surroundings are covered with bermuda grass and tall coconut trees that gives shade to the place.

You can order food at the huge nipa hut which is the resort's restaurant/sari-sari store. The food is then served at the dining area overlooking the beach. Food was okay. They have a pretty good number of selections to choose from. Meals cost around 250-300 pesos per order which is good enough for 3-4 persons.

They also have swimming pools with slides for kids and adults.

They offer serveral adventure activities such as zip line for 50 pesos/ride, wall climbing for 50 pesos/climb), rope obstacle for 175 pesos/ride, all-terrain vehicle (ATV) for 250-350 pesos/hour and kayaking for 100-150 pesos per hour.

The beach has cream and fine sand set on a stunning cove with verdand sorroundings. The resort owes its name to the dramatic karst rock formations just off shore.

Nipa hut cottages are also available at the shoreline for only 200 pesos each.

Indeed, the striking feature of this resort are the islets and rock formations jutting out just a few meters off the shore.

We were scheduled to do all the activities on our 2nd day in the resort. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try any as it was raining hard that morning. We waited until 9:00 AM for the rain to stop for us to have our breakfast and to explore the resort more.

We went to one of the stunning rock formations (one of the twin rock) which can be reached by passing through a hanging bridge. No, we didn't pass the bridge, we just went near to it.

The rock formations are really stunning!

Here's a 360-degree view of the resort taken near the rock formation.

We really had a peaceful, relaxed and laid back time at Twin Rock Beach Resort! We will definitely come back!

This is part of my Catanduanes-Caramoan trip that happened last March 24-26, 2012 with my friends Billy, Cris and Edmund. Catanduanes is the 57th province on my list and this trip is my 2nd time to visit Camarines Sur. We had an awesome time just hanging around and exploring the stunning sights of this island province in Bicol region. Join us as I continue my journey to visit all 80 provinces in the Philippines!
