RESORTS IN SAMAR: Caluwayan Palm Island Beach Resort, One of Samar's Best Vacation Spots

Another must-visit resort in Marabut Samar is the Caluwayan Palm Island Beach Resort. Considered as one of the best vacation spots in Samar, it also offers breathtaking view of several towering rock formations and islets. Just like the Marabut Extreme Experience, it also lies on a cove facing San Pedro Bay along the shoreline of Brgy. Caluwayan.

After having a grand time at Marabut Extreme, I took an ordinary bus bound for Tacloban City and get off at Caluwayan Resort. I paid the entrance fee of 20 pesos and quickly ordered lunch. I had a set meal of grilled pusit (squid). Sarap!

Despite the number of guests during that time, the service is quick and the staff are very accommodating.

The beach front is a little narrow and compared to Marabut Extreme, the sea is a bit rough in this part of the bay during my visit.

Since I've already enjoyed swimming in the beach a while ago. I went to their elegantly designed infinity pool to take a relaxing dip. Note: A fee of 100 pesos shall be collected is you want to use the swimming pool.

If you want to stay overnight, the resort has two open cottages and four beach villas. As of October 2011, they are currently constructing more facilities, a function hall with apartments for seminars & conferences, and water bungalows to meet the increasing demands of guests.

Visit www.caluwayanresort.com for more details.

Aside from the infinity pool, other resort amenities include Bistro Bar, Bistro Bar Lounge, Grill House, Beach Cottage, Boat Rental and a Shower House.

The resort is indeed stylish. From the infinity pool to the elegantly crafted nipa huts used for dining and overnight stay, to the well-kept shower rooms. Impressive! But don't expect beach party scene here as the resort is very hushed, just perfect for relaxation.

  7. In fairness, medyo pricey yung room rates pero I find the place impressive. Parang ang sarap mag-relax. :)

Anyway, the last photo reminds me of Boracay - you know the rock and stuffs minus the powdery, white sands.
