The Most Unforgettable People I've Met on the Road

Independence Day Celebration with the NBFI

BEST GROUP : NBFI - Aurora

I met this group on my visit to the province of Aurora last June. It’s good to know that there are environmental groups such as the Noble Blue Falcons International (NBFI) - environmentalists, peace crusaders. A pro-environment non-government organization with a membership of at least 2 million worldwide, of which more than 400,000 members are in the Philippines. The group organizes environmental awareness campaigns, forest watch and monitoring as well as reforestation under its diverse environmental programs.

Ditumabo Waterfalls

Defending the environment is such a noble act and I was so impressed with how they have dedicated their time and efforts on what they are fighting for. Groups such as this should be at the forefront in helping and promoting environmental awareness not only in the province of Aurora but also in the entire country.

Salamat NBFI!

BEST HABAL-HABAL DRIVER : Kuya Jojo

Kuya Jojo, checking out the ferry

I met him on my visit to Camiguin last August 7, 2011.

What’s good about him is he knows well where to bring me and he gives a handful of information on the spots we go to. He became my tour guide, travel companion and photographer rolled into one. Thanks Kuya Jojo for making my trip to Camiguin an enjoyable one!

Please contact him at 0905-9566288 if you need someone to tour you around the island. Highly recommended!

BEST JOINERS : Coron Travel Friends

Kayangan Lake

I went to Coron Palawan with two of my Sosyal Klaymer friends last June. We didn't tought that we will be meeting more travel friends here. This bunch of funny and easy to get along people made our trip a lot of fun and enjoyable. Though the friendship started just on this trip, I'm glad it didn't end there. We exchanged numbers and added each other on facebook and chat from time to time. I even met up with one of them when I was in Cagayan de Oro last month.

Thanks guys! See you again soon!

BEST HOST : Ludwig

Ludwig in action...

He's the brother of a blogger friend, Dom. Eventough I haven't meet anyone of them in person, they didn't hesitate to assist me when I needed someone to tour me around Isabela City, Basilan.

I am so grateful to him and his family (who I met over lunch) for big-heartedly accommodating me. Thank you for making me feel at home. Also, many thanks to Dom, if not for him, setting foot to Basilan will still be on my bucket list.

Again, thank you so much for letting me discover and experience Basilan’s exceptional splendor and exquisiteness, a beauty not everyone is lucky to see.

Gracias!

BEST FRIENDS : Sosyal Klaymers

First Climb (2009)

I'm one of the six founding members of this group. Of the six, only 2 of them are really my friends then. But that 1st climb started a friendship that I'm proud to say that I will keep for a lifetime.

1st Anniversary Climb (2010)

As time passes, more climbs came. Our group became bigger as new members and new friends joined our adventures. We also met new friends from other mountaineering groups, thus making us much bigger. It's so fulfilling to be sorrounded by friends whom you share common interests with.

2nd Anniversary Climb (2011)

I didn't just gained more friends, but brothers and sisters whom I trust and love so much. While the main interest of the SOSYAL KLAYMERS is mountaineering, our group also indulge in other activities such as running, spelunking, river crossing, beach camping, traveling and more.
