Batangas - Mt. Gulugod Baboy Climb - September 20-21, 2009

My second climb up a mountain was in Mt. Gulugod Baboy last September 20-21, 2009, located in Anilao Mabini Batangas. With me are my "Social Climber" friends Ayie, Ed, Alex (he's the real climber), Julius and Bheng. It took us 2 hours to be able to reach the campsite. From there, it will take you a few more steps to reach the peak of the mountain.

September 5, 2009 @ Crown Regency Hotel and Towers - Cebu City

We first had a buffet dinner at SPARKZ RESTOBAR at the 37th floor of Crown Regency... For only 600 pesos, you'll get to eat a wide variety of cuisines, namely Filipino, Western, Chinese and Japanese. Plus desserts of all kinds... My favorite! Hehehe! The dinner package also comes with a free entrance to the Sky Adventure and one FREE ride. Great deal! ayt?

DAY 1 - September 4, 2009

We reached Cebu City at around 5:00 PM, since we still don't have a place to stay, we decided to go to Ayala Center to have dinner and call on some Hotels/Inns that we have in mind. Luckily, we got one in downtown Cebu City which is very near Crown Regency Hotel.

We spent our first night by chillin' out at 22nd St. Comedy Bar located at Mango Square, just 5 minutes from the place we're staying. As requested by Mami Luz, I went up the stage and sang two songs.

DAY 2 - September 5, 2009

On our 2nd day, we went to the different tourist spots in Cebu. Our first stop is the Basilica del Sto. Niño. As a catholic, I've always wanted to visit this famous landmark in Cebu. I went inside and said a little prayer and then took some pictures. The church is so beautiful that I can't help myself but to stare at the ceiling. Outside the church I bought some candles, and the old woman who sold me the candles asked for my family name, then she danced while praying for my family.

Just a few steps from the church, we reached Magellan's Cross, a symbol of Roman Catholicism in the Philippines. It is said to have been planted by Magellan to signify one important event - the propagation of the Roman Catholic faith in the Islands.

DAY 1 - September 3, 2009

We arrived at Mactan International Airport at around 5:30 am and went straight to Cebu Port to book a ride going to Tagbilaran via SuperCat. After a very uncomfortable ride due to big waves, we arrived in Tagbilaran Port at 10:15 am and looked for the van that we rented.

Places we visited:

Blood Compact Shrine in Tagbilaran City it is where the Blood Compact happened between Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi. This act symbolized peace and friendship which took place on March 16, 1565.

Baclayon Church is the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. It is considered as one of the oldest Catholic stone church building in the Philippines.
